Thanks for any Feedback :thumbsup2

I've found good rates by checking airfarewatchdog.com. It will let you enter any city you want to fly from and send you updates when they locate good deals. Also, we have used Spirit from Detroit. Check their website periodically for some good deals. You may be looking too far in advance. Good luck!

get DING from Southwest, today could've booked a flight for $100 round trip including all taxes / fees for DET to MCO travelling anytime from 3/1 - 6/9 !!

I'd wait for a DING fare...

You might want to check out Airtran Airways, we got flights from DTW to MCO for 4 of us for $612.00 I did not think that was too bad! Good luck! :flower: :flower:

I am doing this right now for our July trip. I have found fares are lower from Detroit than Toledo, even including one night in a hotel near the airport. Here's what I am finding.
NWA--decent price, under $200--not a bargain, but I will not pay over $200 since there are 5 of us.
Spirit--comparable prices or a little higher with a stop--NWA is nonstop.
Airtran--just checked--prices are higher than NWA, esp. if I get seats chosen at booking.
SWA--not available yet, and I can't download "dings" at work, so not even sure that would work for me since I'm at work from 7AM-3PM
Delta--higher prices and one stop.

Right now I am thisclose to booking the NWA flight for $197 each. We could leave at 6:40 AM and depart MCO at 5:55 (they a 6:40 flights but now it costs $30 more per person--one more house in the parks is not worth $150 to me!) I don't like playing the waiting game and then possibly getting screwed.

We flew Spirit out of DTW in June 2004. Had no problems - $170 pp. However, I couldn't get airfare lower than $335 for this February.....kept looking around and decided on AirTran out of FLINT - $223 rt/nonstop/tax included.

I paid $59 each way this last October out of Flint. Not bad me thinks

I am always able to find cheap airfare out of Detroit by booking with Spirit. I had $108 this Dec. and this summer I am flying for $124.00. These are roundtrip prices and are nonstop flights. You have to check Spirit everyday because the prices change that much. My summer flight is now over 200.00. I know it will go down again, but I am glad I booked when I did. I use a cheap airfare finder website as well, but they don't always give you the cheapest flights. It never registered my 124 flight price.

Again, check often and you will find a good price!

I live sort of right between Detroit Metro out of Romulus and Flint....
I never thought of Flint....
When I do check Spirit Air right now I get over $300 RT Per Person YIKES !!!
Please keep me posted of any other hints !

My 4 year old DD just wondered on out pf bed and wanted to pick out all the smilie face dudes....so she did !

Prices will drop over the summer. Last year we flew NWA for $125pp beginning of Nov. We did this the past 2 years. They generally release deals right before Disney releases their fall specials.

It's still a little early. If you can afford it you could book now and when the price drops in a few months get the credit vouchers to use on a future trip.

I'm afraid I'll miss out for some reason..Like all the good flight times will be booked or something....
So I'll just keep checking and hope prices will come down as the months get closer !! Keep my fingers crossed :thanks:

Do keep your eye on Spirit. We booked our tickets (6/8-18/06) about a month ago and paid $159 r/t tax inclusive. Last year we got the same flight for $139 r/t. This is a nonstop from DTW to MCO and it's the first flight out on that particular airline--7:15 a.m. (it used to leave at 6:45 a.m.). When you look at the other rates, for our time period (which is a busy season), I think we did okay.

NWA also has some nice price dips, but you must watch it carefully. The least we've paid on the first flight out for NWA was around $179 and that was several years ago. After a nightmare with luggage handling in DTW, we have pretty much sworn off NWA even though it's in the nicest terminal at DTW.

Air Tran out of Bishop also has some screamin' good deals at times. I'd watch Flint too if you are between the two airports.

Good luck and I'd let it ride a bit longer--you're a considerable distance from the "need to buy" at this stage.

I will have to wait it out.....
AND Yes Yes I want the Spirit flight out at 7am ish non-stop !!!!
I hope I can get it at a rate under $200 per person...
I have never flown AirTran....
I really appreciate your feedback  :hippie:
