Looking for an accurate History of Disneyland reference?

Can someone please point me to a resource (web-site, book...) that accurately gives a history of what Disneyland attractions were present when the park originally opened? What was there on day one? What changes came later and which attractions have come and gone and when (an why???)?

I'm just curious...why?

(I think I've seen a few books on the topic, I'll dig around for you. But I don't think they really explained the "whys" because Disney usually produces DL histories.
