Hi all - first time poster here. I'm a DVC owner who lives in California.
Late last year, I converted 165 vacation points to use on a Disney Cruise for September 2020, which was subsequently cancelled by Disney. I then used those points to book a regular / non-DVC room at Grand Californian in September (cancelled by Disney), then October (cancelled by Disney) and December (cancelled by Disney as of today).
These points expire at the end of February 2021. I called DVC today, and they indicated there is no plan to extend the expiration of these points beyond the current use year, and since I converted them from "vacation points" to "reservation points", I can only use them for the Disney Collection and the Cruise Line.
I feel a bit stuck here since really the only property I can use these points before they expire is WDW, and I'm not comfortable traveling across the country during the pandemic with two young children.
Is anybody else in this predicament, or does anyone have any advice or other options for this point-class that wouldn't require me to travel out of state or the country?
Thanks so much!
-Mike
