Looking for advice our reservation

Hoping someone can tell me if they think this is a good idea or not. This is a trip for two people....

Right now I have 7 day park hopper plus water passes purchased through the YES program ($400)

Because of that I opted for room only at AS Movies preferred with AAA ($752) for 7 nights.

HOWEVER....

If I change that room only to a package with just 2 base tickets, it would be $1200. A difference of about $450. Not worth the dining alone, but I can hold on to those two tickets when we come down NEXT year for a cruise. I'm thinking we can stay two nights at the hotel and use the base tickets and then (correct me if I'm wrong), we'd get the bus service from the hotel to the port that way? Do you pay for that transportation from a Disney hotel to the cruise line or is that more Magical Express?

I'm thinking that would benefit us, not having to pay a cab to drive us to the port, we'd get the free dining (although not really free, but if you take into account the 2 day base tickets we'd stash until the following year it might be the best plan)

Any ideas? What would you do?

Unfortunatly you have to pay for the bus from the hotel to the port. Only ME is free.

Even if you have to pay for transportation to the port, having those 2 day tickets for next year will be a savings.

We're doing the same thing - we got YES tickets and FD, so we'll save our 2 day tickets for another trip.

I agree... it's hard to pay for something now that I won't be using for 18 months, but getting 8 days of free dining plus $330 in park tickets for an additional $440 sounds like it is a decent deal.
