Yes we are obsessed! We were down there this past March and said we were going to wait until 2013 however our two children ages 6 and 4 along with us get the Disney itch right about now!

We have been to OKW, SSR, BCV, AKV and looking to go for 8 nights during Easter break next year. Surprisingly there is availability pretty much anywhere.

Knowing the ages of our children are there any recommendations of where to stay? I like zero entry pools for the 4 year old but OKW doesn;t have one although we love that resort. The other one we have not stayed at is Wilderness Lodge and wanted to get everyone's feedback. We love the "Disney" feel and that's why we were not big on AKV. Will we feel the same at Wilderness Lodge?

Last option is to split resorts for 4 nights each. We also have not stayed at Boardwalk either.

Thanks in advance for all the input!

Perhaps you can explain the "Disney feel" to us. We love the lobby of AKL and WL (staying at both next week for the first time!!!!). What about AKL didn't give you the Disney feel? I would love to recommend something for you, but I don't know which features are important and unimportant to you.

Our home resort is BWV, so we are biased, but we LOVE it there. The location is great and the theme is festive and fun.

Hi,

Let me clarify (just my silliness)

We want to feel like we are in Disney / Florida and that's why we love OKW because if it's brightness, etc. AKV seemed to dark and non Disney for us and sort of felt like we were in a ski lodge in Vermont.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Definitely helps. Since I haven't stayed at WL personally, my advice might be sort of wrong. However, if you want to feel like you are in Florida, I think WL is the wrong choice. You definitely get the feeling you are at a National Park away from FL. I love feeling like I'm in a totally different world, but if that isn't your cup of tea - don't drink it!

I think the BWV are very bright and you can't beat the location. The Kiester Coaster (pool slide) is fun even at 29 years old! Your kids will enjoy that if they like pool slides.

BCV might be a good repeat choice as it has a very tropical feel. SSR might even be an option. We haven't stayed there, but our visits always seem to be lively, the buildings are bright, etc. The new pool looks great, so your kids might really enjoy that.

Good luck with your decision.

Well for many people it doesn't get more "Disney" than seeing the MK out your window, so have you considered BLT? With a 4 and 6 year old I would think you'd spend a lot of time at MK. Plus you have the monorail righ there.

VWL definitely feels like you are somewhere other than Florida- which I personally love. But if you are looking for bright and airy this isn't the right choice for you.

I think you should go back to BCV or try BWV. Both are so close to Epcot that you certainly feel part of all the Disney magic. Plus they are both so beautifully decorated...

For that "real" Disney feel I would say All Star Movies, and during Easter break times 10,LOL. SSR gives us that Disney feeling, and being right across from DTD is a nice touch. We would not do a split stay with that short of a visit.

AKV with it's African theme reminds you of a ski lodge? :confused3 Okay Dokey then. VWL with it's Pacific NW lodge theme would REALLLLY make you think you're at a ski lodge then. We happen to LOVE BOTH of those properties (they had the same architect - who also did VGC too BTW). They're all really heavy on the use of dark woods. WL has a lot of big fireplaces & plaids so it's very cozy - esp. in the winter. It does not have a zero entry pool and the slide is small. We don't need a zero entry pool but would like a bigger slide - but we still love it there tho - it's a gorgeous resort. But if you're looking for a zero entry pool and don't want AKV & don't want to feel like you're in a ski lodge then I'd recommend SSR or BCV for great pools. You've already tried both of those resorts tho so you should know that.

We have booked BLT for spring break for our first time because we know how crowded it gets at that time of year. This way we can walk home at night sometimes rather than have to deal with an hour long bus line. As someone else suggested, have you thought about BLT? They also have a zero entry pool.

If you didn't like AKV, you won't like VWL. The BLT view has your Disney feel but the contemporary theme of the resort feels like high-rise in Manhattan.

I would go with BWV, Boardwalk View. You can see the nightly fireworks from your balcony and the view of the lake is beautiful.

I think WL is nice because it does have a boat that goes directly to MK and at ages 6 and 4, that will probably be your children's favorite park. It has a large lobby and a relaxed feel, give it a try. It's true, however, that it is themed as a national park lodge.

I get the "disney feel" every time I stay at BLT with the CR attached, boats, monorail, shops, (great arcade for kids), walk to MK, monorail to Epcot. The rooms do have the highrise feel but are very bright and MK/LK rooms make you want to hang out on your balcony. My DD's have always loved MK and it is so easy to come back for lunch, break and venture back to the park in the evening.

OP, I sort of understand your "Disney feel" thing. We are from Minnesota and also like a more tropical decor when we escape Minnesota winter. We have stayed at VWL and AKV and both are beautiful resorts with great theming but the colors are more dark than we prefer.
Of the places you have not stayed, BWV sounds good but it does not have a zero entry pool. Maybe BLT would be a good one to try, considering the ages of your kids.
