Looking for a rundown of known changes on horizon

The new coaster is starting to sound to me a lot like Barnstormer, which will be about 200 yards from it. What's the point?

I'd call it more of a combination of Barnstomer, Pirates of the Caribbean and a typical Disney dark ride. Barnstomer isn't particularly friendly to adults. When you get beyond some of the theming, it's really just a small-scale steel coaster. It is also quite short.

From what I've heard, the mine ride would be a fairly unique design. Perhaps calling it a dark ride on steroids is a fair description.

If you think Disney already has too many dark rides, then this probably won't be your cup of tea. And it certainly is no scream-your-head-off thrill ride. But it could end up being a nice combination of the two, with the appropriate intensity level for Fantasyland.

I'm hoping the the new ride will be somewhere between Barnstormer and Big Thunder in intensity. Fantasyland doesn't need an E-ticket ride, and if this is going to replace SWSA, having it as a hybrid dark ride/coaster sounds like a good idea.

If it works out like that, you can pretty much scale up your coaster riding as:

1) Barnstormer
2) Mine Ride
3) Big Thunder
4) Space Mountain

You mean as opposed to the lame-o Harry Potter makeover of Universal Studios with some gift shops, one new attraction and a few redux of previously existing rides?

BTW, WDW is no longer doing Pixie Hollow, Cinderella's chateau or Aurora's cottage, and instead replacing the latter with a coaster.

Try to keep up with the headlines, chief. :rotfl2:

ease off the sauce a little....friendly advice

Also dont forget the rumored pixar place expansion that should take place sometime between 2011 and 2013.

this is beyond speculative....

i see all these "insiders" trolling around saying "oh...it's happening"

Here's the two things about WDW that you can put on the tablets of stone as fact:

1. If it doesn't add directly to the revenue streams...it ain't happening
2. Things are only "happening" when the actual cranes and bulldozers show up...you can't even believe announcements anymore - as the suits will begin to use them as a PR counterpunch/ shock value type things just to misdirect the repeat clientele (by far the majority at WDW). If dirt ain't flyin'...you shouldn't believe anyone. That is the only reasonable take on rumors going forward.

If wishes came true, Disney would do something with Wonders of Life

If wishes came true, Disney would do something with Wonders of Life

They already did something with Wonders of Life. Just like they did with Pleasure Island, the Skyway, 20,000 Leagues, Pop Century, Image Works (upstairs JII), and others. All closed with no direct replacement and allowed to sit empty and abandoned onstage for years.

If wishes came true, Disney would maintain its own established standards.
