Just a slight update on the boys...
I thought I had found a home for them and I was so happy. The woman and I spoke on the phone and I told her everything I could think of that she should know about them. She had apparently lost her two cats in her recent divorce and had been looking for just the right ones to adopt when she saw my post on Craigslist. She seemed like she really wanted them and we set up a meeting the next evening.
Two hours later I had an email with her backing out. She said she was just moving into her new home and wasn't unpacked yet and wasn't ready for them. She said if I still had them on the 27th she'd be glad to take them. I told her I thought she sounded great on the phone and I'd hold them for her. I asked if she could still come by to meet them and to give Max a chance to get used to her and have not heard back from her.
I'm extremely discouraged. We have to move in 4 months, but I know we will not be able to find an affordable apartment that will allow us to have 4 cats.
Most rescue groups also keep a list of available apartments for those that have multiple cats.
I hope you find a loving home for those wonderful 2 kitties. I've gotten 2 separate sibling sets over the years. I have 11 kitties and, thusly, can't take anymore in.
Oops, never mind, I see they are both MALES (I was worried they would mate and make more kittens you don't need!).
Best of luck to you and thank you for trying to find good homes for these two. They are adorable!
Btw, I wish I was near you. I'd take them in although Sophie Tucker would not be happy at first. What we need around here is some action and I just know those two run and tear with each other!!! lol!!! Good luck.
I've been part of a 'scuffle' where we have transported cats clear across the country. I'd be willing to take part in this. One person drives about 100 miles to meet the next person, who then drives 100 miles, etc, until the pet is home. We did this around he Katrina time, and it worked well. If someone wants them from afar, maybe we could work this out. I think I'm about 100 miles from the OP..id's be willing to drive for the next 100 miles (round trip, of course). I do think the OP should go through a rescue group to get them fixed first, thought, especially if they are going to a home with another cat.
I'm not sure exactly about Albany, but when I went to Manhattan it was about a 3 1/2 - 4 hour drive. Sorry if Manhattan and Albany are nowhere near each other but my wife is the driver of the two of us and I have no clue about these things....

I have tried to ask for help from rescue groups... spent the past week contacting them. They just keep giving me contact info for "low cost" spay/neuter cents. $75 per cat is more than we can afford right now but we are trying to come up with the money.
And, what you're suggesting sounds like a great idea. I just want my boys to have a forever home.
I'm in the south, so I probably wouldn't be much help, but I'd be willing to do so if it worked out where I could be useful.
I know that the Dis would frown on us sending money directly to the OP, but I wonder whether a rescue group would be willing to accept donations dedicated to these two kittens? I would be willing to pitch in and others might be too.
