We will probably spend a few days in Chicago after Christmas visiting relatives.

We are looking for a nice, clean hotel.

I've found some great prices at the Sheraton, W and a few others.

If your from Chicago or have stayed in Chicago, I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks in advance.

The Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers is nice, only about 10 years old and is a nice stroll to the Mag Mile.

The W in the loop used to be the Midland. They've done a lot of renovating there but before the renovations people I knew who stayed there reported unwanted (creepy crawly) visitors on their pillow. I have no desire to stay there.

Lots of folks I know enjoy the Fairmont when they're spending the night in town. It comes up on Orbitz at $119/night.

Chicago can be cold after the holidays, but it's really pretty too. Lots of great shopping--I'm hardly ever impressed when I go shopping elsewhere!

Enjoy your visit!

Thanks for the info.

I was looking at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers and the W Lakeshore. Is that the W you are talking about. I think the other W was called W City Center.

I will check out the Fairmont.

Thanks for the info.

I think the one I'm talking about is probably the W City Center. I think the W Lake Shore used to be a Days Inn. I know they've both been extensively renovated--and the public areas are wonderful.

If its as nice as it was a few years ago I loved it. And for $119 its a deal.

I stayed at the Days Inn near the Lakeshore many years ago.

It was disgusting. I'm glad they turned it into something else.

It doesn't look like there are any rooms available at the Fairmont for our dates but I will keep checking.

Thanks again for all of the info.

The Hilton Towers are very nice, the Chicago Marriott is very, the Palmer House is very nice (stayed there this summer), the Westin is very nice (North Michigan Ave), the Drake is very nice, the Omni is nice, any of the Marriott family hotels are nice.

I've stayed at the Palmer House, The Westin & the Knickerbocker. All of them were ery nice.

We enjoyed the Radisson on Huron Avenue. You are steps from Michigan Avenue (shopping!!) and there is a Corner Bakery (Yummy for Breakfast/lunch) right around the corner. The concierge staff there is great for suggestions/help. Look for my favorite restaurant - Heaven on Seven. A little bit Canjun. Great Crab cakes.

I have also stayed at the Hilton towers. Very nice. Right across the street from Grant Park - very convenient for the summer food festival. However, it's pretty far from the main shopping area.

I have also stayed at the Palmer House Hilton. This hotel is near the Hilton towers. It's very close to an El stop - which is great if you are flying into Midway. Plus, you can catch the El down to the Miracle Mile shopping area. And there is also a Corner Bakery close by. (Can you tell I LOVE this place - especially for Breakfast).

Another nod for the Palmer House here. Very nice hotel!

The Wyndham is very nice and they've been running online specials for $129.

We made a one night reservation there Dec. 22nd just to drive in and look at the lights and see the city decorated.
