My girls are getting so excited. :bounce:

I'm thinking of ways to "count down" the days. Anyone have any ideas or experience?

Last time we went we made a paper chain, with the number of links equal to the number of days. Before we put it together, we wrote one thing that we wanted to see or do in Disney on each link. Then each night before bed the boys got to rip one link off the chain and would get all excited talking about what was on that link. They had fun making it and loved watching the chain get shorter and shorter!

Toy Story Mom - What a great idea! We just created a calendar that we crossed the days off (especially when it was over 200 days) but now that our time is dwindling I wanted to do something more special for the last 30 days.

BTW: Go Red Sox! (I am a former resident of the Red Sox Nation - Maine. This year a created my own little RSN in Indiana.)

I did the paper chain as well. My 3 yr old could care less though but I get excited over taking off each link.

Another paper chain here - plus a silly song that DD joins in with naming the characters she is going to see!

We did the paper chain thing too!! I got disney clipart and put one on each chain ...

We've only been planning our trip a month or so in advance and we've got just under 2 weeks before we leave. Each night we read a story and then my DS (4) asks about something ELSE they have at Disney World. The hotel pool (and cool dragon slide), the big Mr Potato Head he can find at one of the hotels. Fishing with his daddy. the trains and the monorail...

Also, this time is great for us to talk about how BIG Goofy and Mickey are going to be. And some other things to expect so hopefully he'll be prepared.

Perhaps you can incorporate a comment into each of your "chains" in the countdown.

Our "countdown" here on DIS is "sleepouts". How my DS refers to the ending of 1 day and beginning of another. He is so excited that we're all doing something so cool together. Of course, if we were all going on a fishing cruise in nova scotia he'd be almost as excited.

Thanks guys! We created the chain yesterday. On each piece of paper I put one thing that we love about Disney World, i.e. meeting characters, riding monorail, Tower of Terror, etc. Today was the first day we cut one off and it was "Riding in the Limo to the Airport". How exciting!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I knew you guys would come up with something!

I bought a poster board sized calendar from a teacher supply store. Picked up 30 Mickey Ear paint chips from Home Depot and double sided velcro. Used a silver paint pen and wrote the days on the paint chips and then fastened them to the calendar. Each morning my son goes to the calendar and taked off the mickey ears of the day........
