It has been a while Disers. We had an amazing trip to POFQ in August (hot but good) and DH and I have decided to return in February, Just booked the free dining promo. DH is teacher and we are looking forward to having the two week Canada Games break in Feb. Now the search and waiting begins for flights. Anyone else in the same boat? I am going to check everyday and will keep you all posted. Who else is going Feb 12-19?

Can't wait to go back!

We are going the first week of February. I have been watching the flights and I am hoping to see them drop in November.

Hey. We don't usually travel during school breaks (have preferred to take the kids out of school, though they are getting old for that...), but with the early break this year, we are planning too. Haven't seen much. Priced a bunch of stuff out of YHZ last night, and the US carriers are the best. Westjet came up at something like $3400 for 4!! We're hoping to have at least 10-12 days but aren't planning on going to Disney parks this time. (Harry Potter and pool time...)

Yes, let's keep each other updated on anything good. I'm in!

We're going! Feb 11th-21st. We're getting married in Disney on the 16th, so there's 20 of us going and staying at Pop Century (although my then husband and I will be moving to AKL after the wedding!) I've booked most of their flights/resorts/dining, so I know my prices! LOL.

We're all flying different carriers out of Halifax: Westjet, AirCanada, UsAirways, United, Continental.

The highest price was Westjet (but we got a 10% wedding discount so it worked out to be not ridiculous). DF's requirement was NO small planes, and Westjet was the only one that didn't fly a commuter plane out. So we're flying that. We paid $663 each, worth it for his peace of mind.

My mom and little brother booked Continental two days ago for $502 each (Canadian). That's the best price any of us have gotten so far (but keep in mind they have to pay $25.00 per person each way for bags).

Saturday's been pretty expensive. All of us except two are flying out Friday because of the higher prices.

Good luck!

Neener3 - I will be getting married on Jan. 4th. Going from POP-->AKL

I will also be going in Feb (12-26) (we will be back on Jan. 10th then driving down on Feb. 10th). The flights for Dec. 29th that my daughter is going on through US Airways was $670 but my father booked those through a travel agency. We do the drive because the flights are always expensive and when we did fly back in 2006 it cost us $2500 for 3 of us. Now we pay about $700-$800 to drive/eat/hotel there and back. I take out Canada savings bonds through the year and that is what pays for the travel.

Im sure we will be running into a lot of Nova Scotian's come Feb. I know my dentist is planning on going also and asked for some advice about staying onsite whereas he usually stayed offsite. We should have arranged a Nova Scotian party since im sure we will be the majority :woohoo:

Good luck to everyone planning on flying down. If anyone is interested in driving let me know and I can send you the route we take along with the hotels (oh and we stay at CAA hotels for the discounts :yay:)

We are also going for 14 nights during the Feb break. I had booked my flights in early June. I usually book early and jump at the rates if they are pretty good. I believe that we paid about $675/person return which is a good seat sale.

Last time I checked, the same flights were well over $800/person return.

were heading down the 11-25th. dd just started school this year so were pulling her out one day early. flights were cheaper the 11th as well. we booked in july and snagged them for 311 plus fees. for four of us it came to 2100ish. seats prices are now on the rise tho. even tho i'm booked i still watch! lol we booked via air tran and got a direct flight.

last year over xmas west jet had a great seat sale on. also continental is who we flew the 2 previous trip and they were the cheapest. worst part is it's practically a tin can puddle jumper from her to newark with a lay over then there to florida. one seat on one side, 2 on the other. not the greatest if travelling with small kiddos.

Hey neighbour. DH and I have discussed, better to pull them early than bring them back late. I don't think that last day or two before the BIG BREAK is going to be too productive! Good score on the tickets.

Have been looking at Continental too. We lived on Vancouver Island for 10 years so are used to starting trips with puddle jumpers. Better that than customs in Toronto for us!

i totally agree! i figure this way we leave early, come back a few days before it's over she can readjust for tiredness and time difference. this last trip in april took her like a week. so that last day isn't going to be much and i figure we wont be the only ones pulling our kid early. i mean she's only in grade primary! yeah i stalked the website that was on my home page and it dropped a few times and i booked them.

yes i totally agree! only been through customs up there once, but that was enough!!! lol we didnt have any issues till out last leg back in april. we'd been up all day and this was our third flight and the youngest was wiped and crying for mommy. he wasn't allowed on my lap so my daughter and i switched. she sat on her own and all the people around her- all ns'ers were praising what a great big sister she was.

Just booked a smokin deal for Christmas Break from Calgary to Orlando on Delta Airlines for $324 tax in per person.. that's a 3,700 mile trip.. Lucked out on expedia.ca.. 3 paid tickets, and 1 year old flies free.

Westjet has a seat sale on now and a 10% off coupon. We got tickets for $128 +tax=$216 per person one way. Air Canada is also offering a 10% off coupon. We bought our return on a direct flight on Air Canada for $218 +tax=$249. I was willing to pay a little extra for a direct flight. Book by October 15.

Just had a look at Westjet from Halifax--to get a seat sale, the route left YHZ at 9 am and arrived in MCO at 11 pm. 10 hours sitting around in Toronto! Umm, I'd rather spend the 10 hours in my own van driving to NH! Seems like I'm logging in too late to get any of the good fares/schedules!

(Ok, I had to edit that because the weirdest phrase showed up in the middle of my sentence. I must've accidentally dragged something in from one of dh's documents!)

Normally I don't like WestJet because of their bad connections. Both the depart 6:30am arrive 12:18pm and depart 3:40pm arrive 11:00pm were available for our dates. We are going down a day early with the 3:40pm flight.

I don't get the depart 9am arrive 11pm flight or the 3pm arrive next day at 12:00pm flight.

I was just checking Kayak.com and a lot of return flights the first week of February have dropped in price. Yesterday it was over $500 return now there are flights for $417-$434.
