that gives 2% or more on everyday purchases - not a card that u have to keep signing up for each promotion or one that changes every 3 months -

just looking for a card that gives 2% on everyday purchases.

thanks

I have discover and i like the 5% back - otherwise don't think its great as u get under 1% back till u reach 3000 charged

I also have a capital one card which gives 1% back and then more depending on the months

i find it so confusing remembering which card to use for what!

thanks

We have a Fidelity Amex card. We get 2 percent 24/7 on everything. You get to "redeem" your cash balance once you hit a balance of 50 bucks. We got tired of playing games with Discover.

I'm subscribing to this thread because I want to know too! I've had several ones in the past few years that earned 1.4% and 2.0% back but they both stopped those programs. I'm using the chase freedom now which is 1% on everything plus some 5% bonus categories. I like it better than Discover card because Discover, for example, limits you to $300 in a category like hotel & gasoline they've had recently whereas Chase's limit is $1500.

I looked into the Fidelity card a while back and I thought if you wanted cash back it was 1% but if you deposited it into an IRA it was 2%. Is that still the case?

I wouldn't mind th 2% going into an IRA, but I think you can have it go into any Fidelity money market account can't you?

I would like to know. We do have a Fidelity account (a few actually) so I wonder if those would count?

Pentagon Federal Credit Union (PFCU) has a cash rewards card that is always rated as one of the top cash rewards cards. If you don't fall into their field of membership, there is a way where you can make a one-time contribution to a military organization ($15 or $20), which puts you into the field of membership going forward, enabling you to get the card.

The Platinum Cashback Rewards card pays 5% on gas pump purchases, and 1% on everything else. I like that they pay the cash rewards back to you every month as a statement credit, so you don't have to worry about remembering to request them or cash them in. Their AMEX card is also highly rated for travel rewards cards, and I use the Promise card for international travel since it has no foreign transaction fees (or any other fees whatsover.)
