hi we are planning on going to universal for 4 days in April and Disney for day. Trying to find a place close to universal. Maybe a timeshare we need at least 2 bedrooms with a kitchen living area? We have stayed at Bonnet Creek and loved it but we're wondering if there as a similar place closer to universal.

I don't believe there is anything like it close to Universal (other than the timeshare complexes like Westgate's on Turkey Lake) do to zoning.

I own a 2br townhouse literally 1 a mile walk from the front gate of the park, walk was along universal blvd and through hard rock hotel. (This was *really* nice when I lived there full time, especially for horror nights), but now rent it out to long term rentals. Zoning for orange county prevents us from renting it out any shorter than 6 months (and it's very strict).

We stayed at Vista Cay by Millennium 5 or so years ago. Seems like it was about a five to seven minute drive. It was located of International Drive and we had a 2 bdrm that we rented from VRBO. I think at that time is was about $90 a night. Full kitchen, laundry etc...

Sheraton Vistana Resort would be a tad closer to Universal, and similar in acccommodation style to Bonnet Creek. SVR has very easy access to the I4, and we have always found the commute to Universal quick and easy. We are staying at SVR and visiting Universal in April as well :) .

the drive up to U from BC area takes approx 20, if you take one of the 'back ways' to skip DTD & I-4

BC is hard to beat, especially as to the variety of pools imo. We did like Sheraton Vistana/Cascades but it's more spread out and wasn't quite as convenient access since we tend to take the surface streets vs I-4.

BC is great, I have to agree! We stayed in a 4 bdrm presidential twice and didn't do Disney.

Thank you for the responses. We really did love bonnet creek when we stayed there 4 years ago. So how much time would we save staying at the Vistanta or Westgate vs Bonnet Creek? Do any places have free shuttle to universal?

We stayed at the Point Orlando last month. The pools aren't as nice as Bonnet Creek but we stayed in 2-Bedroom Deluxe Suite and it was huge. It's 2 miles from Universal. The shuttle is free. If you prefer not to use a shuttle a cab is only $5-$7.

The places at SeaWorld would be closer. There is a Hilton Grand Vacations there.

Also, Sunshine Resort, Sunshine Resort II and Orlando International Resort.

there's a westgate near U, can't vouche for it. No more than 10 min away using back way i.e. skipping I4.

Who did you rent through? And about how much was it per week/ night? Thanks :)

We rented through booking.com. It's a hotel not a time share so it won't be on VBRO or anything like that so it will be more expensive than a time share. It was about the same price as renting at Cabana Bay $190/night. Depending on how many people you have you can rent a regular two bedroom. We had 7 people with 5 adults so needed the extra space.
