Looking for 50’s Prime Time Cafe update

Howdy all. I’m trying to find out if the servers at 50’s prime time are still doing the usual shtick? Not sure they still are with social distancing protocols in place. So hoping someone has been recently during covid times and can update.

We were there between Christmas and New Years and our server didn’t do anything but take our order and bring our food. That was our experience, maybe we just got an introvert for a waiter

We had the same experience in August--no antics.

I am thinking that the CM's that used to work there may have been part of the Actors’ Equity Association and have not been called back. Being a server is one issue, but once you begin to "act" then you are part of the Actors’ Equity Association.

Excellent point. Didn’t even think of that, but could totally be true.
Unfortunately that restaurant isn’t worth it to me without the performances.

It's funny because we're more likely to go there now without the antics. I enjoy them, but with two teenagers who are easily embarrassed by, well, EVERYTHING, we've avoided 50s the last couple of trips.

We went in November and had a great waitress who made us mind our manners and fussed at us for having our phones out at the table. We loved it.

The shtick has been decreasing at Prime Time for years now. To many "sensitive" people who can't take a joke. Its really sad .

We've been three times since Sept and each time it was sort of "chew and screw". If you get entertained, consider yourself lucky..

I second this. I'm an introvert, and don't like having that much attention. But, I love mid-century style and kitsch. I think I'd really like it now.

We would see other waiters having a great time with their tables but for us - nothing. We stopped going there a couple of years ago. Not so much because of this, but the kid’s tastes changed and other than the peanut butter jelly shake she prefers other places.

I have friends with almost identical story as yours. Even after asking, their server wouldn’t throw em a bone. They haven’t been back since.

yeah my daughter was very disappointed. I think that really turned her against it as much as anything - she does love that shake tho lol

The shtick has been gone for awhile but they definitely used to have some play with the patrons. We have been back 3 times since the covid reopening and one of our servers was a long time server at 50's PT. She totally had us put our walkie talkies away after ordering, set the table for Mom and wave to our cousins who were from our same state. It was fun to have the play back.
