this has to be done on a budget!

My DH needs 30 stocking stuffers for people in his office -- a mix of men and women, young and old.

I'm trying to think of inexpensive things so he can do this on more than one day.

He did the "snowman poop" deal last year so that's out.

Candy canes, kisses, cocoa packets, microwave popcorn, what else? ideas?

are any of you having stockings at work? what are you putting in the stockings? I'd love to hear. I think I saw some packs of three lindor truffles at Target recently so that's a thought.

Flavored tea bags; flavored single-serve coffee packets; travel size shampoos, lotions, etc.; pens; notepads; pocket calendars (Dollar Store); purse size sewing kits; miniature flashlights; key rings..

That's all I can think of off the top of my head..:santa:

What's your price range?

If you want something practical that pretty much everyone can use, we were at Office Max the other night and they had little monitor cleaning kits (looked kind of like a "pen" with a soft cloth) for $1.99. I picked them up to put in our stockings.

Lottery Tickets!

We always do a lottery ticket and candy as our employee gift

Small bottles of Hand Sanitizer. :rotfl: Everyone can use it!

How about some sample size tea or coffees, saw those in the dollar spot at Target. Gum, mints, listerine strips or wisps to brush away all that fruitcake residue. Dollar holiday lottery tickets. New water bottle from the dollar store. That's all I've got right now.

How about

thanks guys -- keep the ideas coming!

(pixie921 -- I don't really have a dollar range -- I just can't afford a lot. So I'm going to look at a lot of options and then see what we can do.)

Are they smallish stockings? How about 1 thing in each - a box of Andes Candies. That might fill it, and who doesn't love Andes Candies?

BAM! I think I gained 5 lbs just thinking about those. There used to be a restaurant here that had a dish of those by the register where you checked out.......

Do you have a World Market around you? I get my office stuff from there because it's not the "same old, same old" that people see in Walmart and Target.

Whenever I shop in bulk, I look at Oriental Trading. They often have ornaments in sets of 12 which are not too expensive.

If you have a desire, you could also make some things and put them in plastic bags: Chocolate covered pretzel rods, chocolate spoons, etc. I have a great recipe for caramel corn and for a muesli/granola cereal, which I've put in jars or bags for gifts. There are are also a number of recipes for pumpkin or banana bread in a jar which are cool. Cover the jar with a disk cut from christmas cloth and tie with a ribbon. Or just make some mini breads.

Try to have fun with it!

Ahh, they ARE the greatest !! (note to self: must stop on the way home tonight and get some.....you have made me want them now!!

Scratch off Lottery Ticket, Hand Sanitizer, $5 GC to a Gas station or mcdonalds, Small Christmas orenement (there are great sales on them all over)

Santa fills our (my brother and I) stockings every year with lottery tickets. We love it (neither of us are candy people and Santa has run out of ideas of small, practical things we could actually use; we much prefer this to just junk to fill a stocking with [thanks Santa!:thumbsup2] ) and spend most of the morning after presents are open scratching them off and teasing the other that we won something big. It's something we both look forward to every year.

:rotfl:Did they go out of business from all of the Andes that got taken?! I LOVE Andes (the one candy I do love--just don't ever look at the nutritional info, I never knew they were THAT bad ).

They are still there and still with the mints. In fact, I had probably eaten there for ten year and never had one -- and my DH asked "how can you NOT get one of those?" So I had one.........and now............I like the way they smell.
