I am looking at buying Vero on resale for my first membership. There are a lot of points banked and more comming in Dec. I will probably never stay there but it is the best deal if I can rent the points. How hard will it be to rent those points?

I will probably never stay there

Then don't buy there. The high dues, the difficulty in using the 7 month window, all make it a bad idea for someone who plans to use most of their points at WDW.

Our mantra, "Buy where you plan to stay most" is pretty much universally agreed upon for a reason.

Those points are cheap for a reason.

We really enjoy staying at Vero and are owners there, and don't appreciate when others bash the resort as often happens on this forum. Peak seasons like Christmas and Spring break are important times for us, and like to visit the beach. But you should buy where you want to stay most often, especially at peak seasons. I wouldn't buy at Vero if you don't intend to stay there, good deals happen at all the resorts, its all about timing. Also consider point values for accomodations.

Who bashes Vero? Its a beautiful resort, one of the finest in the world.

I have never seen anything to the contrary.

I agree with Rich, it doesn't sound like VB is the right choice for you. It's a great resort so telling people not to buy for the reasons Rich stated above is not bashing the resort. He has been know for bashing the sales choices and development but never the resort itself. The savings in not enough to complicate your life this way and the dues are the highest by far in some cases. IF your goal is to stay at WDW almost exclusively, either buy where you want to stay the most or buy OKW or BWV. The reaons I say OKW and BW is that they are both readily available resale and the points are, or can be, much cheaper for the same week and unit size compared to WLV and BCV. OKW will be the cheapest in the long run and BWV the best compromise if you want the Epcot area. The reason you should buy on property is even if you don't way to stay at your home resort you can make an 11 month reservation and then try to change over at 7 months, if you do that at VB or HH, you are not at WDW.

Yes it is.
