Look what we woke up to this morning! Day 3 pics added!

Correct we use Celsius and centimeters and liters and metric tonnes you know real units of measure like the rest of the world LOL...

On a side note it is all of about minus 5 degrees celcius currently and it was up to about plus 7 or so today.

Actually, I wish the U.S. would convert to the metric system. It's so much easier,,, and it's fun to say I'm driving 40 clicks to FtW instead of 25 miles!:lmao:

The weather channel lost all credibility with me when Heidi Cullen started her global warming rhetoric. Sorry but I just dont buy it and reject the global warming theory.
I will however agree that China is raping the earth, its one of the reasons that I cite when talking about how America could compete on a global scale if the playing field was level. How much cheaper would Chinese goods be if they had any human rights there or an EPA to help protect the environment. The fact that they want to be excluded from the Kyoto agreement is insane.

I agree to a point about Heidi Cullen...but...you can't exclude historical fact about former Mini Ice Ages and the fact that they all occured within 6 months to a year following major volcanic activity. I'm not talking Mount St. Helen, I'm talking volcanic activity such as the one that ruined Pompeii & western Europe and more recently Monserrat. The fact that the entire world has been dumping major pollutants into the air and water since the early 20th century does have an effect on the weather. In the 60's and 70's, you could not swim in eastern Lake Erie or Lake Ontario because the water was so polluted. If you did try to swim, you had to wade your way through all the dead fish.

Level playing field? The US is just as culpable because we are so entrenched in trade with China. We LOVE the low prices we can purchase Chinese manufactured goods for. Those costs prevail due to the fact there are no EPA regulation in China and the average worker makes in one week what the average US citizen makes in 5 hours or less. If we want to re-stimulate manufacturing of US goods, 2 things will have to occur. (1) Workers will have to be paid less for menial type labor. (2) Our citizens will have to be willing to pay higher prices for US goods due to higher pay & benefits US workers expect.

When you can purchase a product manufactured in China for say $500 verses the identical product made in the US for $700, which one are you going to buy? That is why Wal-Mart dropped it's regime of only selling products made in the USA years ago. People didn't want to pay the prices associated with goods made in the US. It's a vicious cycle that we're all responsible for.

BTW Scott...Hailey's mine! Bwahahahahahaha!!!

It's freezing here this morning...22 degrees here north of Atlanta! If it's going to be this cold, then at least show us some of the white stuff so the kids can stay home and play in it!

Pretty darn cold here in Ft lauderdale, I think its in the high 70's right now LOL

LOL! Rub it in....It was 34 degrees this morning when I was getting ready for work at 7am. BURRRR!! I think it's time for me to move further South....oh wait then it would take more than an hour for me to get to WDW. Oh well, looks like I'll be staying put. :)

Doesn't your military use clicks as a unit of measure rather than miles?

Army is in meters - has been for decades.

ADDED

Hmmmmm - it's hard to believe the Air Force doesn't use 1:50,000 MGRS which are metric. Whenever I called in air strikes it was using 6 & 8 digit coordinates which are based on a 1,000 x 1,000 meter grid system. Those maps are ubiquitous!

So if the military uses the metric system why doesn't the rest of the US out of curiosity???

We like to keep the immigrants confused!:lmao:

BTW.... We had an over night low of 33 & there is frost on the ground. Good thing I covered my hibiscus bush that is trying to recover from a very nasty freeze we had in February 07. As I am typing at 6:50am, it is now 36 degrees. I am 25 miles west of FtW. (or 40 clicks for you Canoozer's - lol)
