Just booked our second stay at the Fort. We will be at the Fort Feb. 22 thru the 27th. Ok, now the countdown begins 119 days.

Now to figure out diesel stops, when we are leaving, well I know that Duramax will tow it no problem. Where to stay, which way to go.

So little to do, so much time. Scratch that so much to do, so little time.

We requested 400 loop, but let you know where we end up. Either way, we definitely have to find a moment to meet up, or maybe join our crew for one of the outings.

Depending on how you come down and your fuel range, use gas buddy, pilot and flying J websites to find best locations and general price for the way down. With my extended fuel range (extra 45 gallon tank, but we still stop about every 3-4 hours) I can skip over the higher priced areas on I95 usually taking on fuel in SC which gets me to FW and enough fuel for the time I am there, then I don't need to top off till SC again and I am clear sailing till I get back to VA where prices are about 25c a gallon less then NC.

Last year we left here it was in the negative degrees and was nearly ninety. The one cold night it got to about 50 but to us that was warm. We always pack for a variety of temps, and this week is a whole week earlier after all so it maybe brutally cold in Florida.

We are planning on getting to disney early in the am on monday if we can get a site fine, if not we will check in leave the camper in overflow and head to a park for the day. Figured we could then come back and set up camp. Looks like we will be around a few evenings and have a preferred reservation this time, so see where we end up.

Sounds like decent plan to me! Not sure what may be on the plan for Monday night that week. Caren's last night there, so that will have something to do with it. I expect Tuesday to be one of our "down days" where we won't be off to a park since I will be taking her to the airport.

My route is well established, the only adjustment was fuel stops. When I had the old DP, I could not make it as far between fuel stops, with only 75 gallons onboard and a lower MPG, I would have one extra fuel stop for 60 gallons. I also lived south of I66 at the time in VA, and just took 234. My guess with where I live now is that the route might change slightly where I take 17 to I95, from there the path is the same as has been the drive.

Well it is now down to 101 days. Been working on the trailer and the yard as the weather here has been fantastic. Put up window film on my doors to turn them into storm doors, replaced the 7 wire cord on the trailer (damaged in last years trip to the fort). Insulated around the doors, have to replace trim. Trying to figure out what I want to do there. ADR's are made, so now it is time to wait for online check in and fastpasses.

Chris we are in the same boat, nearly the 90 day mark. Next move for us is to order our APs to support the two trips in 2016. Saves us both about 300 each so that nearly pays for one AP!!! Plus includes photo pass so no need to spend money on memory maker for each trip. The fall yard work is in full swing, wood stacked near the back door for the fireplace (use it at secondary source of heat/recreational), LP tanks filled for the basement ventless log, and leaves, leaves, leaves. Even got some limbs trimmed up where the RV will rest for the winter.

RV is still at its seasonal home. But after the Turkey Bowl (Vintage racing) the season is over and she will be winterized and brought home. Over the last race weekend I usually start the end of season cleaning rituals, but once she is home I can peck at some of the overdue maintenance on her as well like lubing slides, steps, repacking bearings and installing a new USB/120V outlet to support more charging devices that seem to be growing.

Otherwise, just looking forward to the holiday season. Most of the major items usually happen closer to the trip anyway.

DOUBLE DIGIT MIDGET !!!!!! 97 days left until we arrive home at the Fort. Have to change oil in the TV and the fuel filter, both are down to 10 percent. May have to wait a bit, have hunting season coming up next week, so that will keep me busy.

My oil change and filters are not due till January. Still have 3k miles to go on that. But in other news the commuter car is now up and running and that is keeping miles off the truck. I am busy preparing for the thanksgiving weekend. Thanksgiving with Caren, Friday I have some consulting work to do, then off to the race track for the season final. Winterize the RV and prepare it for being stored at home. The RV pad should be done by then as I just found someone with the right price for the amount of gravel I need.

For now its back to work, the countdown is going quick but we already started our ADR and general FP+ plans.

Well today found me changing my fuel filter,for the first time. Our vehicle has nearly 40,000 miles and the electronic countdown said it was at 10 percent. I wanted to change it before it got too cold. I believe it was the factory original filter, as it was dated 2012 and the vehicle is a 2013. Now to do an oil change before our trip...

jbrostek, glad your commuter vehicle is up. This time of year neither the truck nor car gets a lot of miles as I am laid off, so I limit my travels to grocery, lowes, etc. Always good to get a deal on something you need, and it is nice having the trailer stored at home. Our is on a pad out front along with the truck and the wife's state vehicle.

I was lucky, when I did not have the room to store it at home my friend allowed me to keep it at his shop. But now that I have the space I can store it here. It is only here from December through March anyway and then back to the 'seasonal' site at the race track. But we had made a few trips with it other then the track last year.

That is not bad for the fuel filter, good fuel will always make that possible. I just run enough fuel through mine every year that I just change the filters annually weather it calls for it or not. I also carry a spare with me as I have gotten bad fuel before on the road and had to scramble to find a filter on a Sunday.

This house is only a half acre, but the next is 2-4 and then I wont have to worry about parking so much. Had a long chat with my buddy that owns the shop and planning to get the truck down there and do the services in January. But then having access to a heated shop to do oil change and tire rotations is nice.

Right now my next trip is Christmas, that has been confirmed at this point. So towing town to NC on Wed, return Saturday the 26th to see Caren's family. Sunday I have invited my family over to spend time with them and they get to see the house again. We have made another ADR and I am planning to purchase the APs in December once an invoice gets paid by a client. I really wont get super geared up till after the new year, but like you the more I do now the less I have to do later.

J i know you like to partake in the food at Disney. We just ate at Morimoto Asia. We really enjoyed it. If you like Asian food and are a fan i highly recommend it, and i think it is much better than the Boathouse.

I read your review on the trip report, I may not get everyone in the group to go, but Caren and I would. She picked Wolfgang Puck for Monday the 15th since I did not want us to make a reservation on Valentines after 18 hours of towing (for me I am just wiped out by then and want to setup and relax.)

Would you pick Morimoto over Wolfgang?

Well, we have hit 90 days. My turkey is in the fridge thawing out for Thursday which will find me in a turkey coma and watching football. Then on Friday it is time to change the oil in the truck, and then tow vehicle is good for traveling. Next Monday starts deer season here in PA which is basically a State holiday, two weeks then it will be time for Christmas, New Years, Valentine's and finally our arrival in Disney. I was sorting thru pictures of last years trip the other day, we are making a scrap book for the nephew of the trip. Can't wait to do it again, this time to celebrate "US" as the wife and I never did take a honeymoon.
