Yes I do, hahaha. We promised ourselves no trip next year because we want to do some home renos, the year after that we want to visit my best friend in Germany, the year after that we're not sure of and in just under 4 years is our 5th wedding anniversary so we decided to shoot for then! It's wayyyy too long to be away from Disney, but the ticker reminds me that some day yes, it will happen!

Maybe when you go to visit your friend in Germany, you can take a small side trip to Disneyland Paris!

And Thanks, because I DIDN'T know about the changes to MK hours. Our first day (11/11) they've moved up to an 8 AM opening. (I think you are there that day, too, right?)

Yes - that is our MK rope drop day... hopefully we can still make rope drop! Luckily our night before isn't a very late one. We'll see...

I love your list!

I know DH is excited about seeing the New Old Tiki Room, as I have been calling it. I don't think I have ever seen the original version, and if I did, I don't remember it at all, so it will be a new experience for me as well. And I think DS will love the singing!

We are also looking forward to trying F&W, and the new caramel store in Germany. Is there a drooling smilie?

Then we will hopefully see you there. Are you still planning on "going right"? There will probably be less people there so we might be easier to spot. (I imagine a lot less people make an 8 AM rope drop than 9 AM.) When I told DW her eyes actually lit up. (I'm an early riser - but 8 AM rope drop sort of turns me off.) We get up @ 6 AM every morning for work, so I suppose 6 AM on our first day of vacation won't be too hard.

The new old tiki room is also less traumatic than the old new one (get it?), though you still get the thunderstorm, which could scare your little one.

OK - I have nothing new to add...the plans are in place and we are not yet really packing.

I talked a long time with my DM over the weekend, just about things regarding the trip. (Getting a fanny/back pack to carry things in the park...what she wants for breakfast - we're going to trip some good NE bagels - how rope drop works...etc.

But the big news. TWO WEEKS TO GO!


I also realized it's been just over a year since we returned from our last trip, and prior to that it had been three trips in 10 months, so I think I am really starting to need my Disney fix. Damn addictions! Every trip is just so new and unique, I really just can't wait. The next 8 days or so will go by really slow, but the last few will be a rush as work eats up my time.

ONE WEEK to GO

The packing has started in earnest. DW works every other week, and so this is her off week. (She's only working 3 days next week though.) So yesterday she did the laundry - that means we can finally pack up all our clothes.

She is the type of person that wants to pack the entire house when we go on vacation. I usually try to rein her in, but less so on Disney trips, simply because the we have (A) two suitcases per person for SWA and (B) bags go directly from our airport in Buffalo right to the room.

Just 3 days to go - I can HARDLY believe it!!!!



I am all pumped up at work, hard to keep calm. I have to plan out 10 days of operations on two processes, and try to predict where they will be every day for the next 10 days, which is helping to keep me focused.

We spent much of yesterday packing. It's been beautiful here - Sunday was low 60s and sunny - and it doesn't look like we will have to worry and snow before our trip. (Meantime, my dad and step-mom in Mass. got their power back on Friday after 7 days.) We are packing anticipating not needing to go into our suitcases our first night/morning. Being a guy, I can't show enough interest in our outfits / bags to take pictures of them - sorry ladies.

I will share a photo I finally uploaded of our halloween costumes. I haven't gotten around to DDs yet. She dressed as Velma from Scooby Doo. DW and I will be easy to recognize though...

Sorry, not a great picture on my cell phone. We actually had these costumes in the works for a few years, and had them nearly complete last year for MNSSHP, but rejected them as being too warm to wear in Florida. They were perfect for Buffalo, though.

DM should already be on her way to Florida from Arizona. She is visiting a friend in Ft. Lauderdale for a few days before our trip.

I feel like things are well in hand. Maybe one quick post before I leave on the last day.

Has it been so long? I guess so. And to think only 9 months until we meet face to face!

I already did - but I still find it hard to match people in the parks - so many! Will you be wearing your cheese heads?

For all - I will have my LGMH tags on my backpack, and will be wearing a ball cap matching my local Buffalo teams on game days. That means Bills hat on the 13th and 20th, and Sabres on 11th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, and 19th (yes - 6 games in 9 days - brutal).

I have printed out all my spreadsheets, and even found on-line the times guides for the week, so printed out MK and AK for Friday and Saturday. It's funny, even though I am an uber-planner, I am definitely LESS so of one than I used to be - at least I no longer type out a timeline for each day and laminate them for handy referral. "Go with the flow" to me means "I go over it again and again in my head but don't put it to paper." Oh..the fun of being totally insane.

Just under 24 hours until we leave for the airport...this will probably be my last update for the PTR. Again - feel free to sign up for and follow my TR - where I will hopefully be posting at least once daily updates.
