I'm starting a new fashion trend for Florida running! :rotfl:
There's about 4 layers under the Tyvek.

I made the observation about myself that it seemed somehow wrong to have lost weight in training, only to have all these layers of clothes make me look fatter than when I started.

We all need to share our "dressed for success" photos so you don't feel so alone :)

On top of this I added a running jacket.

enjoy,
Duane

Duane! Don't shoot! I'll give you my purse but please don't hurt me!!

:lmao: :rotfl:

Terry, you look mah've-lous! :thumbsup2 Please! Who cares as long as you were warm! I shutter to think what I looked like. Thank goodness there is no photographic evidence!

Thanks Judy. I felt like the abominable snowwoman.

Terri, I'm just glad there are no pics of me. I had so many different un-matched layers on, grocerly bags on my feet...I felt like a roly-poly and then some.

By the way, did that white running outer suit keep you warm? I saw several people with those on and just wondered if it's more of a rain suit or if it does keep you warm.

That's what y'all get for laughing at me in 2006 :snooty:

Mel - before I left for FLA I was telling people how the weather was predicted to be so cold. I told them abouit the first Goofy when it was so cold I did the whole race in a sweatshirt, ear muffs and gloves. They didn't believe that it could get that cold in FLA, so I showed them your picture. They were shocked at how bundled up you were. Wait till they see mine, now.

Susie- I think the Tyvek helped keep me dry, which helped keep me warm. I couldn't really tell much about the wind since I had 4 layers on.. I shed nothing during the 1/2. AS I was running/walking I did not feel cold at all (except for my face). Before/after the race I was freezing. When I got back to the room and started peeling off layers, every piece of clothing was soaked from sweat. But I think the layers and the sweat kept me warm as long as I was on the move. Once I wasn't generating any body heat, it got cold real quick.

Here we are in Corral C -

I'm on the left and I was wearing a coat, scarf, hat, visor, jacket, singlet, tights, skirt, two pairs of glovesand smartwool socks. I ditched the coat, scarf, hat and top layer of gloves in the first 3 miles. Everything else, I wore the rest of the way, though I did tie my jacket around my waist and run in just the singlet through Magic Kingdom. :)

My friends weren't as decked out as I was - I was glad I'd brought along a fleece and emergency-type mylar blanket to share, although I did not need it myself! :) My favorite is the shopping bag bonnet on the right. I am going to remember that one for the future!

are you sure about that? ;)

I was glad my WISH shirt fit on the outside of my layers!! Somehow I knew I wasnt going to toss my coat...

I think you look pretty clever.

I looked similar in 2006 when my running partner was wearing only a garbage bag over her running clothes.
Sensible doesn't always look too chic.

Well done on the race!

This is early in the half course. I had already gotten rid of one layer by this time.
In this photo, I think I had 3 layers of clothes on, which is more than this guy from south Texas has ever worn to run, and I was still freezing much of the time.

fabulous! as long as you were warm!

I def. felt like an oompa loompa running the half in all my layers!
