Hello DVC members,

I am looking for some help that requires a DVC member. I understand this is a longshot, and somewhat shameless ask, so I appreciate any leads.
I have heard about a Soarin' Tour available for DVC members and their guests. I have a trip being planned that includes Tuesday, Jan 31st. I'm not sure if slots are still available this late but if anyone else is going around that time, would you consider to take my daughter and I as someone's guests?

For background, and why I'm justifying my being shameless, I'm trying to make this trip as memorable as possible. My daughter is 17, a senior in high school. We had started planning a trip for June to celebrate her graduation, but have recently found out that my previously diagnosed cancer has become metastatic and is terminal. So we're doing what every Disney lover does, and making a trip while we still can. We'll be in Disney parks from Jan 31-Feb 4th, and are adding tons of fun stuff and have some family joining so this won't break the trip if it doesn't work. But if it does work it'd be epic.
Soarin' is my favorite ride. It inspired me when I first rode it at Disneyland while there for a conference. As a single mom, I pledged to save enough money to bring my daughter to Disney, and we've now been lucky enough to make a trip to both Disneyland and Disneyworld, and even do a Disney race. . I had to cancel our last Disney trip when I first got diagnosed, but my daughter made a Disney playlist to keep our spirits up, and would play the original Soarin' soundtrack while I was driving to treatment to make it feel like an adventure. Learning about Imagineers helped convince her to pursue engineering next year in college, so I figured seeing the backstage of a ride would be a great memory maker for both of us.

Thank you, Disney community, for any help here. And maybe we'll see you in the parks!

I hope you find someone who will to do it - my trip ends on the 28th of January and I would have been more than happy to have set it up as available. I would also suggest calling member services and sharing your story to the level you would be comfortable - magic happens. My thoughts and prayers for you and your family in this time.

I figured the timing would be the hardest part. I’ll try general guest services in the morning. Thanks for the info in email too!

If I was going, I would do it in a NY minute. So sorry to hear this. My prayers for you and your family.

Despite all that goes on here, I refuse to believe that the magic is entirely gone. I would email Guest Services and tell them exactly the story you have told us. This is exactly the kind of thing Disney is known for "making happen" when they need to. All they can do is say 'No' but I doubt that would be the response.

I'm so sorry.
I'm just checking, has the Behind the Scene tour resumed? I'm asking since maybe this isn't something
that may even be available right now and you can focus on looking for another tour.
I'll be there beginning of February and can look online or however it gets done.

According to this story - it appears to be - I had the same thought because I never even knew it existed.

I think even if you find someone with your dates, it will be a challenge! I tried back in November (60 day mark) for the Jan 24th date and was told it was full. We leave on the 29th otherwise I would be happy to have tried for you! I was told there may be cancellations though and to call back to check. It might require a very determined member to call daily to check for space availability on this date. Good news is that I've had minimal to no wait times to get through to Member Services lately so it shouldn't be too onerous.

I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through! I can't even imagine the emotions that you and your daughter must be going through with this latest prognosis. Wishing you all the best and I hope if a fellow member isn't able to make this happen for you, that Disney will be able to do something!

Thanks for the responses. It is quite a long shot with the tour just returning, limited availability, and the short time until the trip. I haven't been able to call Guest Services yet, because I had family events come up, but I will tomorrow.

Even without the tour we'll have a great trip. We're going to do a fireworks dessert party, do our favorite rides, and just spend some low key time by the pool. Should be great!

I did hear back ... please DM (respond to me in the separate conversation).

Thank you to everyone for their consideration! Special thanks to @john7994 for all the work to try to get this off the ground.

It didn’t work out this time, but we’ve made it here and spent today at Animal Kingdom instead. Headed to MK tomorrow. Am having a great time with family and my slower speed is letting me take advantage of some of the resort activities and amenities, and just people watching.

Thanks again, and hope it’s not too long until you’re disneybound again too!
