My trip is not for another four months! That is so long from now now that it sinks in that we're actually going! All I can think about is Disney! How do I survive? Any tips?

I dont know - mine is just under 6 months and thats all Im thinking about too.

WE NEED TIPS!!! :teeth:

I haven't booked yet-mine will be November 2007-the trick is to live vicariously through other peoples trips! :thumbsup2

What gets me thru the waiting is coming on these boards everyday and planning out all the details.

I also make a countdown clock for the boys to do, that helps them understand how long/short it is before we head back to Disney.

It will be here before you know it :thumbsup2

Drug induced sleep (Benadryl) gets me through the waiting.. :rotfl:

Just kidding.. I hate waiting! :sad2:

How do you guys count down for your disney trip? wait a minute..I'm going to start a new thread on that! Look for it.. :yay:

My next trip is not until January 1st. What my son and I do is have a Disney night twice a week. We watch a different Disney movie each of those nights or play a Disney themed game. We have a lot of fun doing it. I also stay on this board.

This trip is a surprise for my kids, so I am suffering in silence!

Planning, planning, planning...counting, counting, counting... :hourglass

And I'm going crazy too! People at work make fun of me because I'm always reading something about Disney on my breaks! I'm just so excited about going! I like reading these boards too, because they have so much good info.

Monalsw, same here! Ours is a suprise trip for the kids and not till December! Oh the waiting!

I hear ya!! My trip is also going to be a surprise for my child. (I am not telling him until the day we leave). Oh the torture!!!

We leave on May 3rd, but it seems like it may as well be Dec 3rd because the clock seems to have stopped ticking. I need some tips I AM GOING CRAZY!!!!! :crazy2:

I've suffered in silence this last trip in March, we told them right before we got on the plane, they thought we were dropping dad off for a business trip!

I calm myself by shopping at the Disney store in our local mall. I Dis a heck of a lot. I watch any thing Disney that comes on T.V. I also watch the planning DVD over and over. I plan and schedule our trip over and over until it is perfect then I plan some more. I burn my husbands ear by constantly talking about WDW. :Pinkbounc

I count the days till our next trip :hourglass , I re-count the days not counting weekends :hourglass , I count again not counting weekends or days off from work (holidays) ha ha :rotfl: I keep going over our ADR's, I keep changing all of our ADR's :rotfl2: . I play on the DIS every chance I get!!!! :surfweb:

I am suffering in silence with ya sister. I leave in a week and I am bursting. My kids have no idea we are going.

Live 365 Radio!!!!! They have SO many Disney stations!! I listen ALL day at work, and there is always the internet. All the Disney anyone can handle without actually being there!!! Have fun on your trip!!!!

I don't know what I'm going to do with myself.............my vacation seems so far away------my god, these 8 days are going to kill me.....lol

Had to rub it in........

Plan lots of little events and coutdowns. We, of course make a calendar from the Disney Days peel a day countdown calendar. We have a planning PJ party where we choose our restaurants. On days 100, 75, 50 and 25 we gather to watch one of the taped videos from Travel Channel/Discovery Channel/History channel or the official planning DVD as well as favorite Disney movies. We have Disney trivia contests at these countdown parties with Disney Dollars as prizes. We bake marshmallow treat "Mickey" heads, character shaped cookies etc...
Have fun - the anticipation only adds to the enjoyment. My girls are now 21 and 22 AND still look forward to the countdown traditions. This year my significant other is joining us with his "kids" - ages 9, 17 and 20 - they are loving my obsession.

I'm curious! I don't have kids to surprise so indulge me on this-which is better, surprising the little angels (!) with a trip or doing all the planning with them-I've read so many reports from people who say their family has planning sessions, where they pick their ADRs and so on, and that sounds like much more fun to me-as I said I'm curious :confused3

We leave 9/29 to start the drive....so I don't even want to know how many days that is! It is a surprise to both boys for their birthdays (see my sig).

We planning on making a big hoo rah about telling them 2 weeks prior.
Watching the planning dvd, grandparents over, etc. After the dvd we know the questions and 'we want to go there someday''s will start happening and then we are going to announce that in 2 weeks we leave the driveway! I plan on having them each their own countdown calendar and some videos to watch. Gives them enough time to get excited about it and builds the anticipation. :Pinkbounc

But it is driving me CRAZY!!..My husband is tired of hearing about it I think but oh well...I got him free dining by reading these boards :thumbsup2
Happy Easter all!
