Long Weekend Trips From California feasible?

Hi everyone! I haven't posted in this thread yet and thought this would be a great place to start!

After graduating this May from college I landed a job out in California. I'm currently working in the East Bay, and was wondering if there are any Californians who take long weekend trips to WDW?

My firm works 4-10's so I have 3 day weekends almost every weekend. I do want to get to Disney Land, but am curious if anyone finds it at all feasible to do the cross country trip for a little get-away, even if it is only a one park day type of trip. I would probably be traveling alone so dining and everything would be more affordable. I just do not know when I will get substantial vacation time for a longer trip.

I hear Disney Land is very busy on the weekends, but then again I have never been and don't really know.

I guess I'm just really seeing how other west coasters vacation to Disney!

We go down to Disneyland for short trips several times a year, but because of the cost of plane tickets we prefer a long trip to DW every year or two.

DL can be crowded on weekends, but keep checking the blockout calendar for the days when the different annual pass levels are blocked out. Also, because DL and DCA are so close together (about a minute to walk from one park to the other) you can park hop and accomplish quite a lot even on a busy weekend.

And, if you run out of time, DL is close enough to Pleasant Hill for another weekend trip.

I live in SoCal and for the past few years I had taken several quick weekend trips to WDW. To be honest my trips to WDW where for Disney Marathons but I would still visit the parks and usually fly out Thursday evening or Friday morning and return Sunday night or Monday morning. I would obviously like to stay longer but I needed to conserve my vacation days.
