Long time

To the mods this might not be in the best section of the boards for this type of post. I chose to put it here because this is where most of my DIS life has been centered on.

At any rate, I was answering a post on the boards and realized that I've now been on the DIS Boards for 20 years. I've engaged with a lot of folks over that time. Had the opportunity to meet with many of the podcasters in person and develop friendships. Sadly, we've also missed some regular participants over time as life events happen. Sill miss Bawb.

Hi Jeff - I actually followed you over here from Compuserve 20 years ago! I hadn't realized it had been so long, but I should have - my son turned 25 last month and I remember it was around when he was 5 and we went on our first DCL cruise that I went looking for a new internet home.

I also started listening to the podcast around 2006 and joined the boards in 2007 also. I stopped listening when the original group expanded to so many other people and it wasn’t the same. I miss “Bawb” too. They all had such a great dynamic together. Time really flies doesn’t it.

It will be 25 years for me on the boards in August. I remember dialing up on line back than and coming on this site and was just blown away that I had found somewhere that I could interact with other Disney lovers. I also started listening to the podcast from the start and loved Bawb. He brought so much joy to the show. We been so fortunate to meet many members of the podcast teams over the years. Along the way we’ve made many good friends on our trips.

Wow, lots of similarities! Started listening in '06 and joined the boards back in '07 in prep for our daughters first trip to WDW. Lots of great content and information over the years and a lot of good conversation. I kinda miss the "old" days when Cory, Julie, Bawb, John, Kevin etc. were the regulars, and usually only participants. New show and crew are good, but I still miss it.

Looking forward to the next 10+ years!

@OKW Lover, I found the boards in the same year as you. I was researching DVC properties and spent most of my time on the DVC topics. I started following the original podcast crew shortly after it began. It did not take us long to get hooked. We still remember driving to the first “live” show at Gaylord Palms to finally meet the people behind the voices. Bawb remains a special part of this story.

20 years later Sally and I are blessed to have met some great people from this site, a few of whom we have spent time with at every Disney park.

I've only started listening to the podcast recently, but have been on the boards since 2003 - and I can't believe it's been that long!

I regularly came to the boards for planning advice and tips and was so appreciative of the information and the fandom. Over the years I've come and gone because there were huge gaps between my trips, but I've always been very grateful for the comraderie in between. Thank you all!

Hey Geoff! It was lovely to see you and Val last year (how was that already a year ago!?!). I'm not quite as old in Dis-Board years lol! But it certainly changed my Disney experiences for the better! I've had so many wonderful holidays with friends from the boards! It's a bit sad that the boards are more quiet these days, I remember whole pages of threads would appear daily let alone the threads would have so many responses! I certainly experienced FOMO and spent way too long at work some days trying to catch up!!
