long stay at vero beach resort.

has anyone stayed longer than 4 or 5 days at vb resort?
we (myself, my dh, and our dd,age5), are going for 10 days over easter vacation.
we are dvc members, with points at bwv and vb, but have necer stayed at vb!
we usually go to to wdw 2 or 3 times a year, for extended stays, and we thought this might be a nice break from wdw. disney "magic" without the zooiness of the parks.
anyway does anyone have any suggestions for things to see around the resort?
we will have a car, and plan to do kennedy space center, and sebastion inlet.
we are really looking forward to the beach, and the escape from this long new england winter!

We have stayed at Vero for two trips. This past summer was for one week straight. We did not leave the resort one time except for food at the WalMart. It was so incredibly relaxing. Perfect weather and perfect time. THe summer before, we were at Vero for 9 days with another perfect weather trip. By the time we got to the 4th straight day, we were ready for a break from the sun,so we went to Kennedy SPace Center which was wonderful. We also went to Vero itself for a bit of shopping that trip. I can truly say that sitting on that beach, under the umbrella, watching our son play in the sand, then heading to the pool for a change of pace, was the most relaxing vacation we ever had. The time just seems to go so fast there. The activities for the kids are so plentiful, the CM's are so warm, it is just enough for our family in and of itself. I hope you enjoy it.
