We are looking for a decent fair from Islip. The cheapest I've seen so far for Delta Express is $253.50 R/T and I'd like to do better. This is for the second week of November. Does anyone know if and when the fares will go down for this time of year?

I know JetBlue out of Kennedy is cheaper but we are out east and it's hard to add the extra driving time and find someone willing to drive us to the airport!!

Thanks,

Linda

I flew out of ISP the first week of April, I only paid $161. It was strange though, all flights on the surrounding 2 weeks were $250 and above.

I'm going to WDW Thanksgiving weekend, I ended up booking Delta out of LGA for $171. Delta out of ISP was $275. I'm not thrilled about flying out of LGA, but there are 7 of us, so it's a significant savings.

We're from out East also and know exactly what you mean about flying out of Islip...it's so easy!! If you can get the non-stop on Southwest when they open their schedule that'd be great, but it might be $99 each way + taxes. We'd prefer to go up to LGA or JFK instead of connections with the kids. $253 seems a little bit high, but don't expect DeltaX to drop their prices for November on their non-stops from Islip. We consider DeltaX fares under $220 a bargain so $253 isn't that bad....just my thoughts :jester:

I agree with you Dreamer on the prices, $220 is what I usually end up paying. I was really shocked to get a nonstop flight for $161.

For the November trip, the $250 flight wasn't even a nonstop the nonstops were $320 and above which is way too much to fly to Florida.

Also check flying into to Tampa. The discounted fares to Tampa don't sell out as fast as to Orlando. Depending on where on LI you live the drive to JFK or LGA may be a lot worse than the drive from TPA to Disney.

I don't think that the Delta flights out of Islip will be going down at all. Back in February I was able to book a nonstop flight to Orlando for $225.25. This same exact flight is now $253.50. If you read in the newspapers about discounts they are "all" for leaving LaGuardia. You may want to try Southwest. I have heard they have good rates. I think American may leave out of Islip as well. My family and I love Delta and as my mother just said Islip is much easier and nicer than LaGuardia so we don't mind the extra money. It's worth it.

Thanks everyone...I think I'm gonna go ahead with the $153.50 for a few reasons. We can get the nonstop 7 am flight with a return at 6:50 pm. Plus they told me I can get a "downgrade voucher" if the fare drops. We fly to Florida at least once a year so we will definitely use it. Like all LI'ers, we have plenty of family to visit down there when we don't go for Mickey!!

I'm paying $166 to go to FLL in July...I was hoping for something along those lines for November but oh well!! I have 2 little ones in carseats so we don't do connections and we try not to do LGA or JFK!!

Great to see so many LI'ers here...I hope to get the chance to post some more.

Linda
