London transportation questions for my British friends...

We are planning a trip to the UK with cruise and Disneyland side trips.

I would really appreciate any advice and help with the following transportation questions:

1. We want to stay near the airport and take the tube into the city our first day. Are there any hotels that are actually in the airport that don't require a shuttle service?

2. Any hotel recommendations for a family of three near the airport?

3. How long of a trip is it to the Piccadilly Circus stop? I'm guessing an hour?

We would be flying into Heathrow.

I know Heathrow has a Hilton on site that can work out expensive but probably not to bad for one night.
Other two questions not a clue.

We recently stayed at the Sofitel, which you can walk to from Terminal 5 at Heathrow. Connected by walkways and elevators. It's a beautiful hotel, but it is expensive unless you can get a deal.

And yes, about an hour on the Tube to Piccadilly.
