Sorry Couldn't find a better spot...

Hey I'm MonkeyPunk, I'm 17 *Bout to be 18* , and a current MAW Child. I suffer from Graves Disease, an Autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid, and my wish was to Celebrate my 18th B-Day at WDW.

I'm leaving May 7th, and returning on May 14th. I'm takeing Mom *Stitchfamily* Dad, my Sister * Laura * and my brother * Brian a previous MAW Child *

I had a few questions about goings on in Orlando most of them have to do with Universal...

Is there any signs of a soft opening of WWoHP? and if so do you think they'll have the Dueling Dragons up and running again? (It's like the only ride I want to go on other then the Hulk, Jurassic Park and the Mummy)

Anything special going on in May at WDW or US? In like the first two weeks?

There hasn't been any signs of soft openings for the WWOHP yet, but they can happen anytime. The latest they can start is May 28th because that's the starting date for travel packages people bought to get into the area an hour before it officially opens. Pretty much everything is completed except a few details, so there's a big chance it'll open whilst you're there. Even if it doesn't, Dueling Dragons is open so you won't miss that.

Epcot has the Flower & Garden festival going on but other then Grad Nights, there's no other events.

Hope you have fun!

I can't say anything about WWOHP, but I know for a fact dueling dragons will be open the time you are there. Its right at the exit of Jurassic park towards lost continent, it can be easy to miss. Also be sure to check out Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket. I went on the other day and it was walk on, it is fun because you can pick your own song :)

Dragons is by far the best though :thumbsup2

As far as Disney, there is Flower and Garden festival like mentioned above. I am not sure if there is anything else significant. I don't think star wars weekends start until June, may is sort of the "down time" for them.

Thanks I'll make sure not to miss ether! * Is determined not to leave IOA till I Ride the Dueling Dragons and Hulk *

I am also celebrating my 18th birthday at Disney World (we'll be there the first two weeks of June). We were hoping for a soft opening of WWoHP, but it doesn't seem like it's going to happen, and we didn't want to waste all of that money in case it wasn't going to be open to the public. I had also wanted to ride The Mummy, that is one of my favorite movies, and it looks awesome, so I am a little disappointed, but heck I'm lucky I get to go to Disney World period.
When you come back, let us know if you got to go on! I hope you do :)

Have an awesome trip! :thumbsup2

Dueling Dragons has been open since like March 18th or so. They only closed it for a bit to work on the main part of the queue. You now go through a part of the castle, but it's mostly blocked off.

There may be soft openings for Harry, but it would probably be limited to the onsite guests who bought packages (though I heard all onsite guests will get access), passholders (when they do a preview, IF they do a preview), and employees (they will be the first to test).

I'd like to suggest/recommend you see the Horror Make-Up Show. As you can see from my signature, I do enjoy it quite a bit. If you can catch it on a Thurs/Fri/Sat, it's even better. My favorite works then. :)

Hope you have a good trip!
