LOL..my kids to a ROAD TRIP... to SONIC!!!

LOL... Last year DS discovered the wonders of Sonic during our Cross Country trip... The last time he had a Banana Cream Pie shake was in Cheyenne, Wyoming last August.

Well.. we don't have a SONIC in town.... in fact the closest one is 85 miles away.... DS did a web search to find it... He talked about going for weeks... The cravings were making him delusional.

Well, he gathered up 4 friends and his Sister for the excursion this afternoon.

DH has NEVER HAD SONIC!!! so I sent the boy with extra money, a cooler full of ice and coupons printed off the web.

They piled in the big old Chrysler New Yorker.. buckled their seat belts and whoosh they were gone... off to find the nearest Sonic.
He had filled the other boys heads with visions of Cherry Limeaide, Cream Pie Shakes, Chili Cheese Tater Tots.... and all were anxious to fill their bellies with the treasures of Sonic.


They arrived home an hour ago... Laughing, rubbing their extended bellies and dragging in a cooler full of Sonic treats... Happy,,, Happy teenage boys!!!

I tasted a Strawberry Cream Pie Shake.. and am indulging myself with a Diet Cherry Limeaide right now....

DH was ecstatic with his shakes and cream slush... oh my that is one happy fella.

So never take your SONIC for granted... there are teenage boys out here in the wilds of California who will drive 1 1/2 hours to get their SONIC fix!!

The boys got lost a couple times.... First Time Jake has driven EAST of Hollister without the parents....
I think the boys are planning to venture East again maybe to Fresno next time!!

Looks like the closest one to me is in Tracy. Since one of my best friends lives in Tracy, I think I'll be dragging her to get some cream pie shakes and cherry limeade very soon.

I have to admit I LOL when I see the SONIC commercials and their big new thing is SALADS!! For some odd reason SONIC does not equal SALADS to me.......

Um, actually, I do! He headed there TODAY in fact! Went with 3 other boys and one girl to Michigan! Staying with the grandparents of one of the boys at their 'supposed' Haunted, used-to-be hotel, now summer home. Matt wants to film while he's there, for a school project. Supposedly, the whole trip is based on Matt's film project. Clueless Mom, as usual.

I think I would've preferred a SONIC trip quite honestly. At least Jake returned the same day.

btw.. in CA. 16 y/o can not have anyone in the car with them the first 6 months after they get their license.. (well anyone under 21 I think...) Is it that way in any other state?

Wow, it's hard to believe that someone would take a road trip just to go to sonic! But then sonic is really good and teenagers don't need much of a reason to take a road trip, lol.
We have four sonics in our area and I will admit I would miss them if we moved. Can't beat a cherry lime-aid.

I had never even heard of Sonic until I saw Paris Hilton and Nichole Richie "working" at one during a Simple Life episode! Mamajoan that is too funny So did they say it was worth the trip??????

Oh, I'm so sad without Sonic. The town I used to live in had THREE of them. I really miss my cherry limes.

Went back for a visit in April and was SO happy to find out they now had diet cherry limes! I've always had to limit my intake because I have sugar issues.

A Sonic roadtrip sounds like a terrific idea! Where's the closest one to Michigan?

Sonic rules! It's 5 minutes from my house I try to minimize my trips there. The burgers are so good

I live very close to the undisputed best sonic (yes they were voted that) in Blue Springs MO! There are two within five minutes of me and like 25 in the KC Metro. Move here and slush to your hearts content. Nothing beats their limeade and cherry slushes! Frito Pie is awsome too. A heart attack on a plate covered with chili!

My kids have started to notice Sonic ads on tv- we live in NJ and the nearest one is on Ohio as far as I can tell! My youngest still wants to go there- maybe we'll take a road trip ourselves, never have been to Ohio....
