Logistics of using magic bands for purchases in the parks...

Just confirming that if we are staying at a Disney property, we can use our magic bands like credit cards anywhere at resorts or parks to charge back to the room? So we never have to take out our wallets? Do they ask for ID for alcohol with magic bands, or are our ages "stored" in the magic bands? Also, do we get receipts so we can compare our receipts to our room charges? Is this available everywhere...like grabbing a bottle of water or a pretzel from a cart in a park?

A few of the mobile/cart locations are not networked, so magic bands may not work. For the most part though, food and merchandise locations will accept magic bands. It's a good idea to have some cash and ID/medical insurance cards with you regardless. Also, nothing is stored on the actual band. The band just acts as a key to your account on Disney's computer systems where the real information is kept.

There are a few places where you might not be able to use it.....it's a good idea to have some cash with you. You will need to use a pin code when making purchases.
And yes, you will get receipts.

They will ask for ID for alcohol. Even if an age would be programmed into a band, how would they know for sure the band is your? You could easily be using another persons band.

Otherwise it is true that almost everywhere you can use the band to charge back to the room. There are a couple things, like vendors selling balloons that wouldn't be able to take the band but carts can take them. Of course you must have a credit card on file for charging purposes. They will give a receipt for almost everything.

You will get a receipt just like you paid cash. You will need your id for alcohol because it would be too easy to use someone else's band.

Yes, your magic band will be connected to your credit card if you have set it up this way on the MDE website. You'll pick a pin and use it when making purchases. You can also set a limit for your magic band as well. Most restaurants, food carts, and stores take magic bands as a form of payment, but not all of them. And sometimes the magic bands might not work. It's always a good idea to carry around a little bit of cash or another form of payment just in case. I always carry my ID with me because despite being 26 years old, I still look like I'm 16, and I get ID-ed every time I purchase alcohol anywhere. Your magic band isn't a form of ID, so if you're worrying about being carded, definitely take ID with you. You still get receipts for your purchases with the magic band so you can double check your charges against your final bill.

2. Not necessarily. You won't have to use a credit card, though.

6. No. Some cards do not take magic bands or credit cards. It's always a good idea to have some cash. I usually carry about $20, just in case.
