Logistics for luggage tags? Can you use them the day before you check in?

I have a dilemma-- DH just got an interview in Orlando, and is scheduling it the day we arrive to DW. He will be flying in the night before and staying at some random hotel.

We already have our luggage tags-- Can he use it even though he's flying in the night before we check in?? We are going just shy of a month from today!

I'm trying to get him to change the interview so that it's the day we leave, so he doesn't have to stay at a random hotel, and can fly out after his interview (and meet us a few hours after we get home).

Just wondering...

My guess is that you need a WDW room reservation to use the yellow DME tags.

If looking to use the luggage tags then I'm guessing he doesn't need the bag that night? Why not just bring the bag along with you the next day and use the tags. The airline doesn't care about the luggage tag so the only question would be about if it makes sense with fee's etc.

We are on Southwest.... no fees! Wanted to bring non perishables-- we will be there a week with kids, and its cheaper to lug over snacks. I'll be flying without DH with two little kids so things might be a bit hectic for me....

Can you get someone to help you check-in your baggage when leaving? That way you can bring everything when you fly and DH won't have to re-arrange his interview and can only bring what he needs for the night.

Why not have Dh just stay at the same resort instead of a random one? Add on to a package or just a room only at the same place same type of room?

Yes this will work. If he's coming in late they're going to hold the bags anyway, they'll be at your resort the next day.

There's nothing at Boardwalk on December 5..... for months, likely (we are there Dec 6-13)

This! Just do curbside check in. Worth every penny! It’s something $5 per bag at our airport. You don’t have to lug luggage anywhere. This is what we used to do when we had luggage and my sons car seat and stroller.
