Logan Airport, airport transportation

I'm posting this hoping that there have been others in the MASS/CT/RI area who have flow out of Logan and possibly used some type of airport transportation. We're flying in August out of Logan and have a 6:45 or something flight. I was originally thinking of using Logan express, but leaving our car there, family of five, very expensive, won't consider leaving the car at the airport, I'd need a second mortgage, anyone use any type of airport transportation that they have been happy with and that is reliable at 4:00 in the morning?

We also currently have a backup plan of staying at a hotel in Revere, can't remember the name at the moment, but in the Sheraton family and taking their shuttle, but again it's getting to the hotel Friday night. After much thought, I'm not sure that staying at the hotel will save us any time in the morning.

Any thoughts and feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

We live in SE Mass and 2 years ago used Logan Express. Parking was $11/day (for 8 days) plus $40 for 2 adults and one child round trip bus ride.

Last time we rode, kids under 12 were free BTW, that might help save some money, not sure how old your kiddos are.

Last year we hired a local car service. $75 each way plus tip. So for an additional $40 we had door to door service.

Not sure where you would be coming in from, but our car service rate seemed to be the going rate.

we have used michaels limo service from peabody. they are great very prompt, and friendly , which might be helpful at 4a.m. i do not know if peabody is near you, but if so i would highly recommend them.

Have you looked into the hotels in the area that provide a stay and park program? I know there are some with hourly shuttles to Logan. You spend the night before your flight there and then you can leave your car in their lot until you get back. It's probably around $150. We used a service that a lot here in central Ma use...Knight's. It's mostly a shared van service and runs about $130 for the three of us, round trip.

DebMcDonald-

We are flying out of Logan at 6:45 AM also - JetBlue. I have been driving into Boston and parking at central parking for a few years now. It is $22 a day and is usually cheaper (or the same) as having a RT limo. I can leave to the airport at a reasonable time, I can ride in the comfort of my car and I know my car will be there waiting for me when I return.

Although I am thinking of staying at one of the airport hotels the night before - that IS an early flight!

We are going to WDW at the end of this month and flying out of Boston. Our flight is at 6:30am. I looked into Knight's and Worcester Airport Limo. They were both around the same price and were going to pick us up very early in the morning. I decided to use Hilton Honors points and stay at the Hampton Inn in Revere. They have a park and fly package or if you use points they charge $75 for the week to park. With three small children I though it would be best to let them get as much sleep as possible.

There is a website called www.parksleepfly.com that lists the hotels around Logan that offer park and fly packages. They were around $159 for a one night stay, shuttle to and from the airport, and leaving your car there for one week. Some even offered a continental breakfast.

When my parents fly they park at Logan Express and leave a spare key with me. My husband drives me over and I pick up their car and park it at my house while they are away. Then I just pick them up when they return.

They do have to remember to leave the parking lot ticket under the seat though which they didn't the last time they went away. :headache:
But other than that it usually works out very well but that's because we only live about 10-15 minutes from Logan express. :flower:

Adam:

Thank you so much for the parksleepfly website. We already had reservations at the four points sheraton and I called them today and for an extra $50 they will keep our car for the two weeks while we are gone. We are using points for the hotel room.

I wasn't sure when I posted my question and it being so specific to Boston whether I would get any responses, thank you to everyone who answered and I don't know what I would do without this website and all the information I have learned and the help in making for an easier and stress free vacation !!
