Loews First Gold benefits with APH rate?

I just booked PBH for nights of 17 & 18 July - one king room (garden view) at $188 and one queen room (bay view) at $210. Both APH rates. I asked if I could get the Loews First Gold "upgrade to premium room, guaranteed at reservation". She said the benefit wasn't available with the APH discounted rate - she did go away to check - which is fair enough.

Last time we stayed at PBH we were in a deluxe room. What difference will we find with the standard? Do I stand any chance of an upgrade at check-in?

Mmm, we got upgraded at time of reservation two weeks ago using APH rate. I guess it just depends who you talk to.

We were there this weekend and they upgraded us at
check-in. (we are also gold and had the APH rate)
So ask again when you check in. We had a great
room - we could see both parks and the pool. We were far
from the elevators though. But it wasn't a problem. Our
room was beautiful. Other than the check-in guy being
kind of rude everything else was great.

Oh - for anyone curious - they are not doing the Grade A
kids right now - he said not until summer. We did get
our Milk and Cookies delivered to the room - right at 8PM
like we requested. And DS got a blow up guitar as a gift
and they gave us a CD as a gift.
