We'll probably need to hire a locker for a jacket or sloppy joe, so to assist in my cash planning, are lockers cash or credit card, or both??? :confused3

I am fairly certain that they take both, and I know for sure they take credit cards, which is how we always pay.

BTW, just curious, what do you mean by "sloppy joe"? I'm picturing a Sloppy Joe sandwich in a locker and I'm thinking that might get messy! Something tells me you mean something different.

This is from Allears:

Lockers are located outside the entrance gates to the far left near the restrooms. Additional lockers are located inside the park on Main Street -- take the side street on the right by the Market House -- and a few lockers are in Fantasyland outside the Fantasyland Theatre. Lockers are $7, $10, $11, $12 or $15 per day, depending on size. Lockers are electronically locked and unlocked - there are special kiosks at all locker locations that accept payment (either cash or credit cards) and dispense a magnetic card (like an ATM card) that is used to lock/unlock the locker.

They must have changed the lockers, because you used to just get a piece of paper with a 4 or 5 digit code that would unlock our locker. Either way, the lockers do take credit card as well as cash.

That's good to know. We will be traveling with 3 kids and may have to use the lockers for jackets in case the weather changes.

Thanks for the info!

Wow, I agree with disneyfaninaz that they have changed the lockers since we were there in May, it has always just dispensed a slip with a code that you have to enter. We have used both cash and credit/debit cards to rent them.

One word of caution: we have twice (but only twice, and we rent a locker every day that we are in the parks) had an issue where the kiosk machine locked up, much like any computer will, and as we had already swiped our card, it deducted the money although we weren't able to get the locker. Both times, we visited City Hall and were quickly refunded the money, and it isn't a big deal to have $10 or so held up on a card, but just fyi. We try to only use cash now, because the freeze problem is apparently more likely when it is processing a card; just for the sake of saving time we use cash when we can.

FYI: sloppy joe - cotton fleecy-lined sweater

I looked it up because I was wondering too :thumbsup2

Me too! Thanks for looking it up! :rotfl:
It's like "jumper"... when I read a UK author and see that term in connection with a guy wearing a sweater, I picture a guy in a little girl's dress. :rotfl2:

I had the same thought about "jumper" when i went to Australia. When i was there they also told us one day to be sure to wear our "sand shoes" and all us Americans weren't sure what that meant but thought maybe flip flops or sandals (shoes you wear to the beach, of course) but it turns out that it means tennis shoes.

Also, the code or magnetic card, gets you in and out privileges all day long without having to pay again. Just thought I would add that. :)

Thanks for the info about the lockers - I'm trying to minimise how much cash we'll need for the trip, and avoiding a trip to the ATM.

Here is a pic of a sloppy joe - it's the first one I found. They're normally a little more stylish than this, but you'll get the idea. A sloppy joe is normally a fine polar fleece, but can be heavier or lighter weight depending on the season. School kids will often wear them with matching "trackie-dacks" (tracksuit pants made from polar fleece.)

A US Jumper, a little girl's dress, would be a pinafore in Australia, and a jumper in Australia is a woollen sweater. Oh, and what we call thongs are known as flip-flops I believe in the USA!!!

When I was younger we used to call flip-flops thongs but I think these days people might think I'm talking about...ahem...unmentionables.

You never know what you will learn on the DISboards!!

Glad to know you are planning to put a sweatshirt in your locker, as opposed to a saucy ground beef sandwich!! :lmao:

I will say that even though the lockers are pricey, I find them to be quite worth the money.

lock your stuff up 2 differnt trips and had stuff stolen from the strollers we had.
