I am a senior in college and my fiance and I are taking our first Disney trip in 17 days (can't wait!!!). We plan on bringing in a bookbag to Disney to carry all of our things but I was wondering where you put your stuff when your riding the rides. I have read that Universal makes you put your things in a locker and I wasn't sure is Disney had the same policy. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also any general Disney or Universal tips you guys have would be great.

Thanks,
Renee

There are lockers you can rent (I don't know the exact prices), but they're only located at the entrance to the parks. You can carry your bag on the ride. On most rides it won't be any problem at all, since most don't go that fast. On the thrill rides, you will need to do something with it, like put your foot through it. A fanny pack can be a better option if you're afraid you'll lose your bag, but it really shouldn't be a problem.

Lockers are 5.00 inside the park, they are quite small.
Outside the park, near the bus terminals, they are 4 quarters and are quite large...a much much better deal::MickeyMo

Disney allows a backpacks on every ride. If you feel uncomfortable, just put your legs through the arm loops and that will hold it still. Universal has rides that do not allow bags (Hulk, Dueling Dragons, MIB), but there are free lockers available for you to store your stuff. Those have time limits, but they are longer than the wait you have in line so you have to move your stuff and can't use the free lockers all day long.

I agree with the fanny pack. Universal allows those on the rides so you don't have to worry about getting a locker. Plus, it limits the amount of stuff that you will take into the park, making it much easier on your back. Even if you worry about not being able to carry packages all day long, just send them to your hotel if you are on property or to the front of the park and pick them up when you leave. It is a good way to lighten the load for the day

We always bring backpacks and the only time I've considered getting a locker is when going on Kali River Rapids (AK) otherwise we had no trouble with it. Just a thought...we don't have 1 really big backpack. Each of us (DD, DNephew and myself) each carry a smaller backpack with our ponchos, water, cameras, etc. Much easier to handle and easier on your back and shoulders (those straps can hurt if the pack's too heavy!)
