What is the difference between a lock-off and dedicated room?

A dedicated room does not connect to any other room. Depending on the type of dedicated room (Studio, 1BR, 2BR) the amenities may vary slightly from a lock-off.

Lock-off villas will have a door that connects them to another room type. A lock-off 2bR is comprised of a lock-off studio and lock-off 1BR villa. The studio will usually have it's own exterior door, kitchenette and usually a balcony and will connect to a 1BR villa with the usual amenities.

Dedicated 2BR villas will have only one exterior door and no balcony or kitchenette in the 2nd BR (but, there is a little more closet space).

At BWV, the dedicated Studios are called a Studio-Plus and will have a small day-bed (suitable for a small child) in addition to the usual amenities. These may be requested, but are not guaranteed in advance. They do not connect to a 1BR villa.

And don't forget the dedicated will have it's own thermostat--perhaps a very valuable item if you happen to be staying with folks in the "main" area who like things excesively hot or cold.
