I will be traveling from Jersey via Route 80 through PA to Cleveland. Someone told me that there is a QSL Restaurant somewhere along Rt. 80. Is it true? and where?

Yes - there is one in Sharon, Pa. right off I-80. I believe the exit is 5. They changed the interstate exits and I can't remember the new exits - but it's definitely the Sharon exit - and it's on Rt. 62.

Yes, it is the Sharon exit...and, if I remember correctly, you actually cross over into Ohio and then backtrack back to Sharon, PA on Rte 62.

The last exit in PA is exit 4...the old exit 1N ..the Farrel exit...routes 60 & 18.

Since yu are headed to Cleveland, you could head up Interstate 79 North off 80 to Erie (about a 60 mile north trip) and head East on 90 to the Rte 19 - Peach Street exit. This exit is only 3 1/2 miles east of the 79-90 interchange. Another QSL is located there.

Then your trip from there to Cleveland is direct over 90 West to Cleveland (about 105 miles)

All in all, either QSL is not going to add too many miles to your trip.

BTW....the QSL in Sharon is the original one...bon appetit!

I don't know, but we saw these for the first time in Erie, Pa. and they cracked me up. I don't know why but the whole concept of a gas station/oil change themed restaurant. Calling it Lube just cracked me up. Are they good?

I hear they are goofy, tacky and have greasy food. Sounds great to me!:D Besides, what's a road trip without atleast 1 tourist trap!
No really, all joking aside, people have told me they have the BEST wings!

WE were just talking about Quaker Steak and Lube tonight - we had wings from a local place. My DS loves their [QSL] wings. They have some called "Suicide Wings", if you order them, they bring you out a sample to try before they bring the order, theya re that hot! They also make you sign a release.....

Sharon is just a few miles from the Ohio border. I think you take Rt. 18 once you get off I-80 to Rt. 62. I am horrible with directions - I just drive!:o We live about 30 miles from Sharon, my DD takes dance lessons there.

Erie has 2 QSL's....the one right off 90 on the peach Street exit.....the one i mentioned earlier...

the other one is about 9 miles north off I-90 ooff the Route 832 Exit (old exit 5)...or better known as Peninsula Drive on the corner of West 8th...

Ye, they are goofy and tacky and the wings are pretty good...BUT...speaking frankly...there are way better wings in a number of places n Erie......

My personal favorites are at a place off the Fairiew exit on 90...(old exit 4)...route 198 north to Route 20 East...called "Avonia Tavern"

they have what is known as "Stacks wings"....and they are the absolute best!

We drove past this on our way to Cedar Point! I did a double take when I saw their sign and then had a good chuckle over it....that's a clever name! :)

If you're really set on QS&L go for the original restaurant in Sharon. We've stopped at the one on Peach Street in Erie and their food is "iffy" at times. DS#2 has done the suicidal wings and needed several stops on the way home (we live about an hour away) for milk to cool the burning. (Chocolate syrup works, too!)

Like someone else said, there are better wings in Erie and if you're ever in Warren, PA, stop at the Cornerstone Restaurant. Their Old GrandDad wings are the best!

Definitely check out the original in Sharon if you have the opportunity -- incredible wings! And then on the way back out, you can stop by Daffin's Chocolates for dessert! :teeth:

Brer_Papa -- when did they open a West 8th QSL? I didn't know Erie had two now? Wasn't West 8th and Peninsula where the Hooters is/was?

Well, that's so cool that they're putting one nearby us in Pinellas Park, FL. That's in the Tampa Bay area. Have to try it out sometime.

I was a little surprised to see Florida on that list! That's a heck of an expansion for a little restaurant that seemed to be only local to PA for a long time (it's only even been in OH the last couple years).

the newer QSL is on 8th and Peninsula...where the "Elephant Bar & Grill" used to be....it was renovated to be the QSL....

the Hooters was on 12th & Peninsula....and was completely torn down....there will be a Country Fair there soon....lol..Erie has a LOT of Country Fairs...

BTW.....my favorite QSL was n Hermitage PA on Business Route 62...but they closed that 1 down...Grandkids and I made many a trip there....and then a hike to Daffins..and of course Kraynaks...

Edie....we will be in your neck of the woods...Warren Fair is this week....

Ahhh -- gotcha. Got my corners of Peninsula mixed up! :teeth:

Yep, one thing Erie needs another one of, it's a Country Fair! :p  :teeth:

Just got off the phone with QSL Sharon, it should be a breeze to find. 3miles N then 3 miles W off of exit 4B. Everyone,Thanks for all the help. These wings better be good!LOL

BTW.....my favorite QSL was n Hermitage PA on Business Route 62...but they closed that 1 down...Grandkids and I made many a trip there....and then a hike to Daffins..and of course Kraynaks...

That's the one we pass every week going to dance class - I miss seeing the car on the top of the building!

What do you all think of the Chocolate Kingdom at Daffins? And Kraynak's Santa and Easter Lands can't be beat!!

Cindy - glad you got good directions! Are you game for the suicide wings??

They just opened one about 10-15 minutes from me. LOVE their wings!! :teeth:
