I tried searching threads for local children's hospitals in Orlando (wanted to hear people's experiences rather than just choose one from Google). But random threads with hundreds of posts are what I'm finding. And I didn't see a sticky about them. So if anyone has an opinion, I'd love to hear them.
We are foster parents and have been given permission to take our foster daughters to Disney in May (they will be almost 18 months old). Since they are labeled medically complex (frequent issues with asthma and non-responsive to treatment all too often, combined with some feeding issues)anytime we take them somewhere we have to supply DCF with enough information that they feel we are prepared to deal with any medical issues that may arise.
I already have Turner Pharmacy on my list. Also will include information from the FDA website about bringing a bag of just their medical supplies as a carry on (I have to research this further, because part of giving them meds means we need applesauce - their Singulair granules can only be mixed with a small list of foods according to the drug insert. But I don't know if they will let me bring applesauce through security for them. And in all my times of traveling I have never looked to buy applesauce in the terminal).
Sorry for the long winded post. But having to answer to DCF for everything is stressful - they take common sense stuff and make it seem like rocket science.
So if anyone has advice on hospitals or has any info that I should include for DCF, I'd appreciate it. Hoping we won't need it, but I'm extra nervous because May is when their issues started last year.
