Local news channel has new doppler, now they can panic in half the time!

Dick Goddard is the MC of the WoolyBear Band Festival every year. He sure knows his Ohio trivia on marching bands. I've never been to the actual festival but I sat thru the band fest for 4 years for dn and I went to the parade one year. The thing lasts about 3 hours!!!

I marched in the woolybear parade back when I was college. It was like the longest parade ever!

I was in the band show in 1997. He wasn't there because his mom died and I think his girlfriend too in the same week. I could be wrong though.

Mark Johnson and his new toy! LOL We won't watch him for our weather. I think he gets his pleasure out of life from bad weather. And I can still predict the weather better than he can by my headaches. lol

I can't tell you how many times we've been in the middle of a huge t-storm in Lorain County and I flip on the tv to find NO coverage. I think if you live on the west side no one really cares about our weather.

There was an interview with Brad Sussman a few weeks ago (remember him on Channel 5!?) Well he said that the main reason he left Channel 5 was because management made him make a big deal about the weather and blow it all out of proportion. How that happened is one night there was a series of tornados/bad weather, and they did one of those all night broadcasts. Wellllll, it brought in great ratings (I forget what it beat, but it was big) so that did it and ever since then the station was pushing them/

Gotta love Dick Goddard and Andre Bernier with the weather on Channel 8 and Mark Nolan and AJ Colby on Channel 3. No one on Channel 5 - well Mike Stone is nice to look at
