For our recent trip in January, we had the privilege of eating at both the Boardwalk Bakery and Columbia Harbour House using our Quick Service dining credits from the regular dining plan. At both locations, we enjoyed the famous Lobster Roll’s that Disney has available at these quick service locations. Here are my thoughts on each!

Boardwalk Bakery: This location had a great selection of quick service items. Naturally, as soon as my husband and I saw lobster we made a quick decision to get it. You actually can get the lobster roll “daily special” that they have available under the quick service dining plan that comes with a soup or a side salad.

Taste: Excellent taste, large chunks of lobster meat with leaf lettuce in a grill bun.
Quality: The lobster was fresh and tasted superb, we were impressed by the large pieces of lobster that you got.
Size: The overall sandwich is about the size of a hot dog roll and about the same amount of meat as a hotdog.
Side Items: Chips or Cucumber salad with just the lobster roll. Side Salad or Soup with “daily special”.
Dessert Options: ANYTHING! The great thing about the boardwalk bakery was that you could get an dessert option at their counter.
Atmosphere: Beautiful on the water at the boardwalk. No indoor seat. Beware of the seagulls!
Price: Lobster Roll Only $17.99 or Lobster Roll Special $19.99
Value: Excellent value! This was the most we spent on a quick service credit. Our total bill was over $55 for 2 people between the lobster rolls, dessert and drinks.
Tip: You can refill your soda 3x within 1 hour at Boardwalk Bakery

Columbia Harbour House: Great stop in Magic Kingdom for a quick service credit that is different than burgers or chicken. My husband got the Lobster Roll and I got the Salmon. Of course I tried a bite of his though!

Taste: Great taste and different then boardwalk in a good way. It is mixed with more of a mayo base and coleslaw throughout the entire sandwich.
Quality: The lobster was fresh but there was a lot less lobster then the Boardwalk.
Size: The overall sandwich is about the size of a hot dog roll and about the same amount of meat as a hotdog. The amount of lobster is less than the boardwalk but the coleslaw makes up for the additional room.
Side Items: Chips, French Fries or Broccoli & small thing of coleslaw.
Dessert Options: Chocolate Cake, Seasonal Cobbler or Strawberry Yogurt.
Atmosphere: Indoors and plenty of seating, air conditioned. No seagulls!!
Price: Lobster Roll Entrée 10.99
Value: Good value if you are paying OOP and also a good option if you want something in Magic Kingdom.

Sooo..

- If you like MORE lobster meal and less mayo, go to Boardwalk Bakery.

- If you like MORE coleslaw with your lobster, go to Columbia Harbour House.

- If dessert is important to add to your lobster, go to Boardwalk Bakery.

- If you are paying OOP, go to Columbia Harbor House.

- If you want to an excellent value for a QS credit, go to Boardwalk Bakery.

Honestly, I really enjoyed the Boardwalk Bakery experience and Lobster Roll much more then Columbia Harbour house. The Lobster meat was large, fresh and EXCELLENT! I was very impressed by the dessert selection and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. Except for those seagulls!!!

My husband loved both of the lobster rolls and said that since they were completely different (coleslaw or no coleslaw) it is really up the person’s taste buds on this one. He loves anything with lobster in it. When I asked him. He said that he would most likely go to Boardwalk Bakery due to the whole package with the desserts if he had a choice.

I hope you get a chance to check out both of the Lobster Roll Quick Service options and let me know what you think!

Here are some more photos of the Boardwalk Bakery that I wanted to share!

I am so glad!! Yes, I think those prices are high but great under the dining plan it is an excellent deal!

Great pictures, and thanks for the comparison! Looks like a trip to both places will be in our plans! :goodvibes

I am glad you like the pictures! I highly recommend the salmon at Columbia Harbour house too. It was excellent!

Did they allow you to pick the "daily special" as part of the meal plan? Or was that excluded because it included the soup/salad? Also, was your coffee drink a drink choice under the plan or you paid OOP? If you got all that under the meal plan, that WAS a great deal!

BTW, your pictures are great - I wanted to reach out and take a bite of that fruit tart!

Excellent question! They actually let us get the Daily Special and Coffee as a part of the meal plan. Just make sure to confirm if you try it. Enjoy!

In my experience, there is NO coleslaw in the Columbia Harbour House lobster roll. How do you define coleslaw? There is a lot of mayo and lettuce, celery etc, but NOT coleslaw. I don't agree with your review in that respect only.

Oooo, I might be changing up some lunch plans to head down to the Boardwalk.... :)

One minor detail, I think, is that when I got the lobster roll at Columbia Harbor House (always my favorite place at MK!), it was LOADED with bell peppers. I despise bell peppers, and never knew they would be put into a lobster salad. This may have changed, but a heads-up for pepper-haters like me. :)

Boardwalk's lobster roll looks fantastic, though. :)

It sounds like they changed the CHH lobster roll. When I had it a year or two ago it was gross! It was on a roll much longer than a hot dog roll and it tasted like imitation lobster meat made into a seafood salad something like what you would buy at the supermarket deli counter. It was so horrible. I was sooo disappointed. :sad1:

My husband got the Lobster Roll at the Contempo Cafe and dreams about it!

Looks like we will be making at trip over to Boardwalk next time we visit to do a comparison. :cool1:

I enjoyed my lobster roll at CHH this past Wednesday. Minus the roll - it was stale- ish white flour bread, not worth the calories or poor health, much rather waste my "bad for you" eating on the yummy chips that went with it or the blueberry cobbler that was so-so, but sweet.
