If you can spare the time to read the above link, you'll be reading about the passing of a true legend in the theater world, a man with a fascinating life and a career that is absolutely without equal.

I was lucky enough to spend six wonderful summers at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center as an intern while I was in college and in the years directly after. Even though I was only an intern, Lloyd treated me (and all of us interns) with the same respect and warmth that he afforded the Tony winning directors and Pulitzer Prize winning playwrights who shared their summers with us. Those six summers gave me some of the most incredible memories of my life so far, and Lloyd was a big part of that. He will be missed by those of us who were lucky enough to know him in person, and by the millions more affected by his work. His brilliance, his passion, his gentle spirit, and his generosity will be remembered by all of us. Tonight, the lights of all the Broadway theaters dimmed in his honor. What an amazing tribute to an amazing man!

Anyway, I just wanted to share this. I know that the name Lloyd Richards won't mean anything to a lot of you, but he meant a lot to me. I'm sad he's gone, but I know he lived a very long, happy, and productive life. We'll miss you Lloyd!
