LLMP prices hitting Xmas highs 1st week of March?

I know it's Mardis Gras time but Xmas-NYE level busy? That seems highly unlikely, especially with no holiday or marathon colliding this year. Certainly smells like a LL price hike... (and what cringe timing after that WSJ piece about Disney's price hikes)

ETA: Data link
3/2-3/3 $39 MK
3/3 $32 EP and $29 AK

DHS doesn't quite join the party on 3/3 pricing at $32 (missing it's all time high of $35)

WOW!! Does Mardi Gras drive crowds that much?? You're so right about cringe timing. Nearly $30 for AK is so expensive!

Yes. Mardi Gras crowds are no joke. However, this year it doesn’t align with Presidents’ Day or any other holiday. There are some schools (our area for example) who do have an early spring break, but spring break shouldn’t be in full swing until the following week. Maybe this year MG week won’t be so packed, but I bet as you head toward the 6th, levels will start to creep up to a 7 or 8.

It's fine! The price needs to go up in order to give the buyers a better experience.

We used LLMP last December and it really sucked. The availability of rides ranged from extremely low to non-existent due to too many buyers.

Higher pricing will decrease the number of buyers, which will result in fewer complaints from the standby lines.

No. It’s been busy before but not Xmas to NYE busy. Using TP data from last year, Mardis Gras was in Feb and led into Presidents Day yet crowds levels ran 6-8, while Xmas-NYE last year were more like 8-10.

We went in the end of January and there were days that were close to new years pricing. It was insane. We've gone in mid/ late January previous years and it's never close to holiday pricing, but this year it was. I thought the same thing about hiking the prices for 2025. We bought LLMP most days because I had been watching recent wait times and we have young kids. I was worried about not being able to do much if lines were as long as it said on the app every day.

We ended up waiting in a couple standby lines that were no where near the wait times advertised. One day we had an unexpected ER trip in the morning. Luckily everyone was OK, but didn't get into hollywood studios until 1pm. By the time we used our first LL, Mickey and minnie's runway railway was already sold out. We decided to try to wait for it when we saw the line was "only" 40 minutes. We couldn't have waited more than 10 minutes. We decided to get in line for rise of the resistance when the line was posted at "only" 55 minutes. We were in the first pre show room in about 15 minutes. We had a similar experience at 7 dwarves mine train another day, but that was a half hour before the park closed, so maybe that's why the posted wait time was so exaggerated. No excuse for the two HS rides.

At first we were so excited that the 3 big rides we had to wait for had such short lines! Then we totally felt scammed. If they start posting wait times as only 10-15 min, would as many people still pay for LL? Maybe we just got lucky on those 3 lines. But the cynical side of me says that disney literally gets paid to say wait times are longer than they are. I imagine just about every person considering buying LL looks at wait times the couple weeks ahead of time to inform their decision. If disney lies about wait times then more people buy LL. The same number of people are in the parks but disney makes more money.

Anyone who is concerned about Disney's deception should go LL-less for several days to see if standby is the route to pursue.

Right, but this is part of the "beauty" of the new system for disney. If we had that experience in the genie+ days, when you purchased every morning, we might have tried a day without to see. This trip, we had already bought them all before we even got to disney. If you wait till you are on your trip before buying for the same day, most of the good rides are sold out already.

No idea how the trip would have worked if we skipped LL all together, but we fell for the fear of long lines. After already spending so much $$$$ on flights, hotels, park tickets, restaurant reservations, we didn't want to risk not being able to ride many rides. If our kids were older and able to be in the park from open to close and were better about waiting in lines, then that probably would have changed the equation for us.

And as an offsite visitor, I can vouch that for last week at the MK on Wednesday Feb. 5 (per touringplans.com historical data just a crowd level 3 day), that three days in advance (the soonest an offsite visitor can get LLs), nothing was available to TRON, 7DMT, or Tiana. All we got was with the multiple pass LL was Space Mountain. It seems like such a rip off, but when you pay so much to go in the first place you want to minimize lines and this one was one of my son's favorites. Other LLs weren't needed in the next tier as those were walk on and crazy I spent $29 a person for that for three people.

Prices plummet on Ash Wed, this was definitely a hike just for the Mardis Gras folks.

Wonder if Easter will see the same or new all time highs? I’m guessing higher highs since Easter demand > Mardis Gras demand…

Yes, glad to see pricing headed back down the day after Mardi Gras - gives me hope since we'll be there all week. I would expect Easter demand/pricing to = Mardi Gras. I was concerned about a year with Mardi Gras falling later - guess we'll get to see in person how bad. Hope the lower pricing continues to show up tomorrow for 3/6.

I’d be curious the prices the second week of March. We went that week last year and in 2022 and it was crazy crowded. Last year the week or two after the wait times were much better than when we were there (then they started creeping back up). Could hardly even walk around it was so crowded.

I'm going this week as well and had no idea it was Mardi Gras or that that was even a thing to bring in crowds (west coast gal). The 4th and 5th are my only full days in parks and the remainder are only partial days. I know MK has early entry AND extended evening hours on the 5th. Will that bring more crowds to that park?

Extended evening hours doesn't really add to the crowds (and the extra morning time doesn't either because every park has that every day).
