I read somewhere that there was a shop in either St. Maarten or St. Thomas that sells them. Does anyone know? Maybe an idea for a price of a piece?
I wanted to pick one up for my mom and am trying to gage if they cost around what we payed in europe for them or if they are insanely priced like in the US?

Thanks all :)

I whipped out my handy shopping guide and found The Crystal Shoppe in St. Thomas -- "At A.H. Riise
-- gorgeous, brand new renovation featuring the Caribbean's first Lladro flagship store"

I did buy a piece of Swarovski crystal from this store and the prices for Swarovski were around 25% less there than in the US but with the added benefit of duty/tax free shopping, my discount was more like 30%. I wasn't pricing the Lladro pieces, but I imagine the discount would be similar to Swarovski. Enjoy and happy shopping!!!

I was just going to ask if anyone knew prices for Swarovski. Are you a Swarovski collector?

Great :) Thank you. I know the Swarovski crystal figurines stateside aren't too bad. Still more of course than what we were used to paying. Mom did all her collecting in Germany. So maybe the lladro's are fairly decent. I just know we saw a cat one in the marshall field's add for $150...ouch! No way.

Thank you. I've marked down the shop and will try to find it ! :) :flower:

The shop is gorgeous and we thought the prices excellent. However we are comparing it to UK prices but I think they would be similar.
They had a huge selection and packeaged them well. The Hummels were also very reasonably priced.

I usually pick up my Lladros in the Caribbean. They are usually priced about 20% - 25% lower than US stateside prices, depending on the price of the piece. The more expensive it is, the discount gets slightly higher.

I am fairly certain you can get the Lladros on St. Thomas at a place called Little Switzerland. As far as "an idea for a price of a piece?", that varies widely, depending on the piece, just as here in the US. However I do know they are definitely discounted from the US retail price. Another thing to consider is if you don't plan to hand carry them back with you, you probably should check the shipping prices to get them home, before purchase. HTH!

Don't know if its still there, but there used to be a Lladro outlet in Williamsburg, VA that had amazing prices. Some were seconds, some were not. Of course nothing can beat the prices I paid in Spain. :cool1:

Sue - I am not a collector but my mom is an AVID collector! She has three cases filled with her Swarovski and has been a member of their club for years and years. I did buy her a piece while we were at the shop and paid about 30% less than what I would have paid here (considering stateside I would have to pay taxes too). I'll PM you tomorrow with some more info that I got from the shop regarding Swarovski - they have a mailing list that you can sign up for where they said they will mail you Swarovski at their prices!

Got your PM! Thanks, that's another one for the must do list :Pinkbounc

Sue - Thank you! A Disney wedding is just as magical and a Disney cruise!!! Now I just have to convince my husband to do a vow renewal on the ship!

Stacy

Actually I was going to hand carry since I see them the day I get off the cruise. Meeting me for a week at WDW.

I know she likes the pieces with the little girls with kittens or puppies. Hopefully I can find something :)

thanks for the help..might have to check out the crystal to :)
