Okay, so for a bit of background information. My husband and I have always loved going to Disney. Every single vacation was taken there. In 2012 we even had a huge family vacation there. We did the Deluxe dining and everything. Which was way more food than any of us could eat. LOL!!

Well, we had began talking about going back to Disney in September of next year. Well, unfortunately, next year will never come. At least not for my beloved husband. He passed away earlier this month.

I wanted to cancel the trip, but my son, wants to go. It was always our vacation place. He went there when he was 3 and he has loved it ever since.

Most kids love the Magic Kingdom. Not my little rebel. He has always loved EPCOT. He loves science and everything involved in it.

I'm having a hard time planning this time. Knowing that our trip will be minus one very important member. I'm trying to remain positive for our son, but it's hard. After 20 years of marriage he's just suddenly gone. I guess my heart isn't really into it. Our son is 19 and he's wanting to save up and pay for the trip himself. He says that it's his way of honoring his dad.

I love Disney and hope that as the trip gets closer I will be more excited, but all I can feel right now is regret....

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how hard it is to lose your partner, and especially with a trip on the horizon. I hope that visiting Disney will help bring back fond memories and that you can somehow feel his presence with you, enjoying the things you used to enjoy together. Being in such a joyful place that you both shared and loved so much will hopefully bring you more comfort than regret.

:sad1: I am so very sorry about your loss. My heart hurts thinking about what you must be going through. I would imagine being there without your husband would be extremely hard, but think it is sweet your son wants to honor him and continue to make memories with you. Maybe being there will make you feel like he is there with you and hopefully be comforting...as much as possible anyway. Ill be praying for you and your family. Sorry, again, for your loss.
