Living the Disney Dream - Review & 500 Pics!

Great report and amazing pictures, makes me more excited for my up coming cruise on the Dream, it will be my third cruise on the Dream did a back-2-back last year on the Dream.

I'm glad you are all enjoying the review and pictures. Thanks for all the compliments. It was a true pleasure writing the review and taking the pictures as the ship and entire experience were so exceptional.

Taking the pictures with as few passengers visible as possible takes a little patience and good timing. What I find is that around 11am on a popular port day (Castaway Cay in this case) is the best time. Most of the people are off the ship, and the dining rooms are between breakfast and lunch. Sometimes you have to wait a bit for a space to clear in order to get a good shot, and that is where the patience comes in handy! All in all I was able to take all the photos in about an hour and a half then went ashore (with no lines) to enjoy Castaway Cay.

It used to be that in any port the ship would empty out. Not so anymore. I would say only about 1/2 the passengers disembarked the DREAM in Nassau. The ship was still quite busy especially for a port day. People are finally catching on to my secret. My best enjoyment of the ship is when everyone is ashore and I have the ship to myself. I know many had the same idea in Nassau judging by how busy the pools were.

Lucky you! I've been told that while the DREAM is art deco, the FANTASY will be art nouveau. Disney has also realized the pools are a little small on the DREAM, so the FANTASY will have some additional wet spots. One for adults and one for children.

I'm jealous! I want to sail on the FANTASY so bad!! 3-days was not enough on the DREAM and you really need seven. While DREAM was pretty perfect, but I think the FANTASY will be even better!

AmAzInG trip report, loved the style of it, get right to the point Now I know what to look for and what to appreciate about a Disney cruise. I have never cruised before and am booking my first cruise for Jan '13. Disney was my first option but the price seemed a bit high for a solo cruiser. I loved what you had to say about the 'greatness' of Disney. Just doesn't seem like other cruise lines compare.

And your pics are fantastic!! I can't wait to book

Your report and pictures just made me smile. We are going on our first cruise in April and I have been so excited. We are traveling in a big group and I have one friend that keeps saying "dont hype yourself up to mich", I dont get why she wants to keep me unexcited. I cant wait for the whole experience.

What a great review and fantastic photos. DH and I have decided that this year's trip to WDW will have to get us through to 2014. We want to do the "Surf and Turf" trip in 2014. Looks like the "Surf" portion will be aboard the Disney Dream. Thanks.

This is our 2nd Cruise this year on the Fantasy,been on the Wonder and the Dream also. I just found out from your post that I can order soft drinks at the Bars for free!
I wasn't aware of this I kept going down to the Self service area. So thank you.

I'm not certain you can walk up to any bar and order free soft drinks, but we were never charged for any. In some cases we ordered a alcohol drink along with a soft drink and were never changed for the soft drink. There were also some occasions where we just ordered two soft drinks and no alcohol, and we never got a bill for those either. I'm not sure what the official policy is.

I don't think you will be disappointed. I've also sailed on many different lines but DCL is quite special. It comes down to those special Disney Details that just can't be found anywhere else.
