Hey everyone. So I go to school right now about an hour and a half away from my parents' house, so I live on campus. I am aiming to do the spring 2012 CP. Living on campus is kind of expensive so I would like to get an apartment. The only problem is that for an apartment you have to sign a 12 month lease. Has anyone gone through the process of finding someone to take over a lease before? Any advice or personal experiences would be appreciated. :)

I've gone through this twice.

First time, roommate just left. So I talked around my department and managed to find someone who was looking to get out of the housing and they moved in.

Second time, I knew my roommate was only staying for a semester, but I knew someone else who was on an internship and would need somewhere to stay once they returned.

It was easy, at the end of the winter semster my first roommate prepared to move out (he was graduating) and about a week later my new roommate moved in. All three of us were required to visit the leasing office together to move it over, but it was easy because that's what we originally planned to do when we signed. All three of us lived together for about a week due to the overlap, but no big deal.
