Livin on a Fantasy!! September 29, 2012 Disney Fantasy

I'd love to know if there is a place like the Promenade Lounge, I liked hanging out there.

We (DH) and I are doing the 5K. Since we live in SC the humidity should not be any worse there than it is here. We usually run at 630am....its humid that early!!!

There's a thread about meeting places on the Dream. They mentioned either Vista Cafe or the DLounge.

I just saw that thread too. D-Lounge looks like there is has more room for a large group. How many families do we have now?

what has everyone booked so far?

since my girls are younger (ages 4 & 7), our activities are limited. plus. because of their ages, i tend to also want/need quick bathroom access where we go.

i've booked boatswain's adventure marine park when we're in grand cayman.

was also thinking xel ha when we're in cozumel.

anyone else booking these - or has anyone else done these?

yay!

Hi Wendy,

WE have a 4 year old son and we are doing the pirate adventure in grand cayman, xel ha in cozumel and we are going to attempt the ruins in costa maya. Xel ha looks beautiful, I am really excited about it. My dad went there a few years ago on a cruise and he said xel ha was his favorite excursion of all the ports he went to. He said the water is crystal clear for snorkeling and there are thousands of fish :)

Hi how did you already get your port time? We are in room 7186 and I have NO IDEA if this is good bad or indifferent? Thanks again for people that know what is going on! :) Mary

Hi Mary,

We are neighbors. We will be in 7188 ;)

Hi all --

I just wanted to share that there was a short article in yesterday's USA Today called "El Niño May Curb Hurricane Season." It said in part that "forecasters are predicting El Niño will develop over the next few months, which could portend a quiet end to hurricane season...El Niño will most likely form by September [so] there could be a quick shutdown of tropical storm and hurricane activity...in September and October. However, there could still be storms in August and early September."

I have to admit that I had had some reservations about booking a Caribbean cruise in late September because of its frequent storm activity, so I'm feeling quite relieved. I'll still bring the Sea Bands, but smooth sailing sounds good to me! :woohoo:

Is anyone else staying at country inn suites before the cruise wth us? If you are, they have a special right now for 30% off. Just rebooked friday night, went from 155 to 118. Im pretty happy with that. We are in a 1 bedroom suite as there are 6 of us. not sure of the savings for a regular room, but anything is better then none!:cool1:

We're staying there too. Is the $118 for the cruise package that includes parking since we are driving? We have family that are going too and have rooms booked there.
Thanks

I am not sure if it includes the parking, you can always call and ask them. we are flying down so we will have rental cars.
Where in Middle Tennessee are you all from? We are in Smyrna. picked this cruise due to fall break is that week.

Glad to see other Tennesseans on the cruise :thumbsup2 We live in Cordova just outside of Memphis. Which route do you take to get from TN to FL?

Nicole

We are staying at the Radisson - I think it's only a few min from port. We are flying in and renting a car the day before so we can do a little exploring around Cocoa Beach.
:drive:

Nicole- We are flying to Jacksonville and renting a car from there. Much cheaper to fly there, only added about hour drive. Looks like several from Tennessee will be joining us. We have friends we have cruised with several times joining us again. Very excited we are getting closer. Hard to believe that the kids start school in less then 2 weeks.

Hi Jodi - trying to figure out whats going on and wonder what the FE is? Thanks for your help! Mary

Hi Mary,
Looks like someone has explained what the FE is for you already. I don't check these boards all that often - sorry it took a while to get back to you!
It looks like your daughter is around the same age as mine. Lots of 7-9 year old girls - they will have a blast!

you're both tougher than i am. i'm actually from the space coast/central florida area. i can barely stand to wog in this heat. hoping for a mini snowstorm the morning of the 5k...

maybe we'll see you in xel ha, then! i'm still debating. it's such a long trip there and back. but i'm trying to justify it with time at sea vs. time on land. i thought about the ruins but with the heat - but i didn't know how my girls would take it. plus. there's the unknown factor with bathrooms. :scared:

Oh no....I'm from the Northeast....don't even whisper the "s" word !!!! DESPISE it ! It's why I'll always choose Caribbean cruises over Alaska cruises ! And running in it is impossible---I've tried. I run 3 miles about 3-4 times a week. In the winter, all my running is done on the treadmill at the gym because cold and "s" and running don't mix well :sad2:;););)
