Livin on a Fantasy!! September 29, 2012 Disney Fantasy

Congrats! That would be amazing!!!

Well, I am finally pain in full. :cool1: We have an 11:00-11:30 arrival time at port. I am so excited I was able to get Palo dinner on my birthday! I plan to go the the MDR too to sit with the girls while they have dinner and the we can do my B-day celebration too. I booked Palo brunch too on Sunday. I have never done brunch but always hear how wonderful it is. I want to try it by dh doesn't really. I may go by myself if he really doesn't want to go. :lmao:

Are we going to have a meet on Saturday once onboard?

Sorry about your pain :rotfl2:

Does your husband like shellfish, shrimp the size of your thumb, Alaskan snow crab legs? That's only the beginning. Tell him if he doesn't go, he'll be sorry. And if he goes and doesn't like it, I'll buy him a drink as compensation. I'm pretty sure that's a safe bet on my part.

He actually isn't really a shell fish fan unless it is Maine lobster. I will tell him your offer though and see what he says. :confused3

Btw, it isn't just about shell fish. I just somehow never get past the pile of shrimp and crab legs when I go. There is a cold food table with all sorts of meats and cheeses, an incredible selection of breads, fresh fruits and berries and then there's the desserts. You also get to order an entree that is a combination of breakfast favorites like eggs Benedict and eggs Florentine and entrees more geared towards lunch. It's just absolutely an incredible experience.

I think I'm really crazy. Judy and I were originally booked on the September 7th Canada cruise way back when, but switched to this cruise since I really wanted to try the Fantasy.. Well, today we got an offer we couldn't refuse (how New York) for DVC members and just booked a category 4A room back on the Magic. So now we have two cruises in September. Of course, being from New York, I don't have to worry about airfare for the Magic. How crazy is that?

I must be just as crazy as you!! I received the same offer!! I couldn't pass it up!! I'm booked on the September 7th sailing. I have a category 5a. I'm going with DD26. She is not sailing with us on the 29th. I can't believe how much they dropped the price. Insides are going for $499pp.

Hi, I'm just joining this group. Found out about your from another message board - didn't even realize Disboards existed!

Anyway, this is our first cruise on Disney and our first in the Caribbean, but not our first overall. My husband and I are traveling with our two kids - Josh, 5 and Sarah, almost 2 at the time of the cruise.

I haven't been able to read through all 40+ pages of posts, but I'm glad to see this is an active group! Hopefully we'll be able to meet up with some of you, especially ones with same-aged kids. I'm hoping to put my daughter in the nursery for a couple of hours here and there, and to send josh to the kids club some days.

Any great secrets I should know about the ship or the cruise in general?

How far in advance do I need to book space in the nursery? It's kind of hard to predict now when I'm going to want to use it, but I will definitely want a couple of hours here and there. My daughter will be 23 months.

Do I have to book now? Is there ever availability if I wait until we're on board? This is our first Disney cruise, so I have no priority if that makes a difference.

Do I also have to pre book at all for the regular kids club (Oceaneers)? Or can he just come and go whenever we want? My son is 5.

i am so ready for the cruise now! we were able to book everything we wanted! bbb , nursery time, and even the palo brunch i wasn't planning on booking! i can't wait! :cutie:

Welcome aboard!!! I have never used the nursery, so I don't know how that works. The Oceaneers Club/Lab do not have to be booked at all, your son can come and go as you decide.

That's great!!! I was thrilled to got what I wanted too.

Me too! Now it's just over an hour!

So did any of you stay up till Midnight to book excursions? I meant to - in fact, I was up watching a movie w/ my husband till after 1am but by then I was ready to crash so I just did all the check in this morning. I got the 11am early check in, Palo brunch and both the excursions I was hoping to book! Wooohoooo! So excited!

Being out west has it's advantages, I only had to stay up until 10...and even then it was a stretch!

That's great! Can't wait to meet you onboard. We have my mom joining us to on the Magic. It's funny, she's traveling alone, but they gave her a 4A, since it was the same price. I don't know what she's going to do with all that room.

Welcome aboard. You'll love the Caribbean. I can't help you with little dude and dudette questions, but if you want to know anything specific about cruising Disney, fire away.

Well welcome to Disney! Once you go Disney, you won't want to do any other cruiselines, LOL! We absolutely love Disney cruises! This will be me and my husband's 6th Disney cruise and my son's 2nd. Disney does an amazing job making you feel super pampered, the food is delicious, they have wonderful activites (for families and adults), and nothing compares to the kid's clubs!

So did any of you stay up till Midnight to book excursions?

I could choose excursions at 9:00 in California. I could have checked in at midnight, but really didn't need to since I don't need an early boarding time. We're taking Disney transfers from MCO.

Now I'll just keep checking for a cabana. Maybe I'll get lucky. :rotfl: Son-in-law wants one. If my daughter had known that, she would have got the one available when she checked in. Wish us luck!

Now I think I'll go check in and get that over with.

Thanks for the tips! Got a couple of hours in the nursery on each of the sea days. Might add more later but I'm glad to know at least there is a little bit here and there. I also was able to book a massage - didn't realize how few time slots there would be! I didn't get a great time, but it's better than nothing. Now to decide if I want more nursery hours... wish there was a way to see what on board activities would be happening during those times!

Just thought of another question. How do I find out what my dining rotation is?

It will be on your Key to the World card when you get it at check in.

This will be the 3rd Disney Cruise for my DD (31) and me. This will be my DH's 2nd. I've seen the movies...Titanic & Poseidon Adventure, so I never imagined myself on a ship, until one day, I said the words out loud...Disney...Cruise...then I said them together...Disney Cruise!. I TRUST everything Disney. So, I chose Disney to take me on my first cruise. On my 2nd Disney Cruise, I met a man traveling solo, from New York, who told me that he has vacationed with almost every cruise line there is, but he PREFERS Disney Cruise Line because Disney has the cleanest ships. :earsboy: 72 more days to go
