IT'S FINALLY DISNEY DAY!!!
I woke up at 4:00am, which was like 2 seconds before my personal wake up call came and got me.
Bright and early I tweeted
IT'S DISNEY DAY!!!!!!!!!
I couldn't believe the day was FINALLY HERE!! I got dressed and got ready and waited around for a bit until 4:30 came. My other cousin Robbie was driving us to the airport. Actually, aunt Gail drove us there and Robbie took the car back.
On the way to the airport I realized
HOLY CRAP I GET TO WATCH STACEY AND DUFFY TONIGHT
These are a few of my favorite things.
We got to the airport, and even though I printed my boarding pass the day before, we both checked-in with the kiosk. Which I love. Then we headed over to check our bags and mine was 42lbs. Whoops. We waited on line for security. I don't mind security and TSA...except for that whole having to take your shoes off. While in line for security, I spotted a woman with a race tee on and a WDW luggage tag on her bag. I said to aunt Gail that this woman was definitely running in WDW Marathon Weekend. Then I saw her Disney Dooney and that just re-established my previous comment for myself.
We made it through security and headed to the gate, which was like 30 steps away. We didn't have long to wait before we boarded. Aunt Gail went to get a muffin and I munched on my Monster's University Cheez-its that I packed for a snack. I also posted an announced on Instagram.

It killed me that I had to post a picture I took with my phone, but it was a very important post.
I had my first cute child encounter of the trip right before we boarded. I obviously put on one of my pairs of ears. I heard this mother say to her little girl "Go tell her you like her ears." This little girl who was probably about 2 came over to try and tell me she liked my ears and she has the same ones...or her mom told me. She showed me her Minnie Mouse necklace. They were called to board right after that. An older gentleman also said to aunt Gail and myself "I bet I know where you're going. I can see into the future like that."
I would be screaming it at the top of the air plane if I had the option.
We soon boarded the plane. Aunt Gail and I were not sitting next to each other. One of the people in my row also told me he knew where I was going. The woman sitting next to me showed me some pictures on her phone of her daughter's Minnie Mouse birthday party.
Can I seriously wear my ears everyday if it means people talking about Disney to me?

The flight was uneventful...which is always a good thing. I couldn't find anything to watch on TV because it was still early in the morning and anything on sucks anyway. Which reminded me to eventually tweet my mom.
Oh I got more channels at 35,000 feet than I do at home.
As we were approaching the airport, I was staring out the window looking at all the pretty Floridian houses...hoping one of them I was flying over was my twin's house.
We touched down and it was raining. Boo. Oh well, at least the temperature was in the high 60's instead of in the teens.
GOOD MORNING ORLANDO
We stopped at the bathroom on the way over to the tram. I ended up walking next to that woman I was mentioning earlier who I said was running. I asked her if she was running this weekend. Obviously she said yes. She was running in the 10K and the full. She asked me if I was running in and after I told her I was running Goofy she told me she ran Goofy last year and that it was really fun. So that helped my nerves aka my own self doubt that kept creeping in my mind. We chatted for a bit on the way to the tram. She asked what corral I was in and when I told her D she said that 1. I'm speedy and 2. That it is better to be in those first corrals because it can get really congested in the later corrals. Good to know, because I was trying to figure out if I should run back in corral N and O with Annie and Kristen and Craig, respectively, as a way to control my speed.
We parted ways at the tram because I thought Kristen and Craig wanted to meet in the area right before the tram, but Annie was already over in the terminal (near the Disney Store...duh!). So, we got on the tram.
Call me crazy, but I actually really like the tram (or Fake-o-rail as some of you lovely Dis-folk like to refer to it as). I think because when I'm on it, it represents that I am finally IN Florida again, and so very close to being on Disney property. It also represents all the fun that is ahead of me. Ok, so maybe I only like it for the first ride of the trip.
We made it over and waited by the Disney Store. Annie and I were texting each other because we did not see each other. She was near the Ear-port and I was by some other Disney Store that I have never seen in MCO...not complaining. We finally found each other almost right at the same time that Kristen, Craig and AJ appeared. We made our way down to MDE and my first experience with my MagicBand.
They only scanned mine 'cause I'm special. I thought it was so cool! More of that to come. We proceeded over to "Mickey 3" for Old Key West. We didn't have to wait long before we boarded.

The new video....ummmm no me gusta. I barely paid attention to whatever was going on because I was waiting for THE video.
Wow the people on this motorcoach are VERY unenthusiastic
People...it's like 11am, it's not that early. Slackers.
Soon enough, we were through those beautiful purple gates.
DISNEY PROPERTY!!!

Old Key West OMG I am home *cries*
I went over to the Online Check-in line (which was the first time I did online check-in...for those of you keeping score of all my 'first timer things' at home). While I was waiting, I asked about the whole room charging versus charging with the MagicBand thing. I still kept getting conflicting answers. But anything I wanted to do would have to wait until later because the were busy with check-ins and I had money to spend.
Even though it wasn't even noon yet our room was ready! I couldn't believe it! AND it was in A PERFECT SPOT! Mom (the Queen) would approve. We went over to bell hop to get help with the luggage/a ride over to the room...but they said it would take about 15 minutes. No thanks, I'll walk.
We took the quick walk and made it to our room, #2923
I waited for everyone to get up the stairs for the grand reveal (pun intended). Everyone unloaded the carry-ons (THANK GOD) and explored.

I went and claimed my room with Annie...and by claimed I mean forced upon. Lol I don't mean that as ungrateful...I just bought SO MUCH STUFF that first day, I ran out of space to put it...
I put my travel buddy on the bed. Looking festive.

We headed right back out the door to head to the expo, because I had Disney money burning a big ol' hole in my pocket. We walked to the Hospitality House because that is where all the WDW Marathon Weekend event transportation would be taking place.
If you haven't figured out that I am absolutely obsessed with my lights...
The expo bus came.

We got on the bus and we were off!

Yup, I'm doing Princess Weekend I'm SO excited! I'm signed up for the GSC, I literally might die waiting to go 
I'm already stressing about my carry ons so I feel your pain! I hate dragging carry ons through the airport, we always have connections too. But I know I'm going to need my running shoes and costumes so I might have to suck it up and bring one. Plus I'm going to need lots of space to bring back all that Disney merchandise
Glad your travel day went smoothly! That Grand Villa is amazing!
I love all the Disney lights too, they are all so perfect! I would love to be the person that got to go shopping/design all of them!
Can't wait to hear all about the expo and see all your purchases!

This must be what Heaven looks like
We made a quick stop at SSR since we were sharing the expo transportation buses with them. We arrived at ESPN Wide World of Sports. We were dropped off at the bus drop off/pick up area and had a little bit of a walk to the buildings. I guess I was motoring because I kept looking back over my shoulder to see where the fam was.
I made it to right near the welcome center and asked a CM where the runDisney merch was. He told me the HP Field house (which was currently right in front of me) or in Josten center (directly behind me). I choose HP for whichever reason. I guess because it was in my line of sight? I dont know why I didnt have the expo maps screen shotted on my phone that would have came in handy.
I went in and on the floor of the area was.............nobody. I have a picture but its a little blurry because I have this hate relationship with ISO and never bump it up high enough. But I did see the signs for Dopey and Goofy bib pickup (thats me!) I also saw the signs for runDisney merchandise so I hurried in to try to find my way down there with Annie. We couldnt seem to find how to get downstairs.
We walked in almost a complete circle and finally discovered where the stairs were. And those stairs led us to the outside. Awesome! We did that same walking to nowhere as we did inside again...only outside. Eventually we made it back inside, and this time on the lower level. I could not contain my excitement any more.
Finally I was surrounded by runDisney merch!!! But I didnt see one thing that I would be buying for the race. I went over to the pins and picked up a half marathon medal pin, a full marathon medal pin, a Goofy Challenge pin, and I did it! Mickey pin, then the 2014 runDisney vinylmation, the medal for the vinly, a WDW Marathon Weekend water bottle, and a runner Mickey plush. My shopping was very strategically planned and you could tell; I knew what I wanted and I got it!
I went over to the track jackets because I have been promising myself one for a very long time. I couldn't decide on which race to buy (between the full aka Mickey or Goofy). As I made my way over to the registers, I asked a CM where the tutus were. And she told me over in Jostens Center. I made my purchases; got my Disney Visa 10% and we were off to Jostens! On the walk over to Josten's, we passed my family sitting at a table having some lunch.
We made it into Jostens and I was at a lost for words at what I saw.

That Disney-runner-Princess being moi, of course.
I was in complete awe. Just SO MUCH RUNNING STUFF. AND runDisney merch!!! AND WDW Marathon Weekend merch!!!!!!!! AHH!
We boogied on down stairs to go check everything out. On the way we stopped at the chalk wall and wrote something of inspiration to our fellow runners.
I wrote Believe in horrid handwriting with Mickey ears. Words I needed to hear.
Moving on, to more runDisney merch. I ran over to the tutus and picked one out. Then I decided on the full marathon (Mickey) track jacket, and proceeded over to the register.

We headed back over to the HP Field house to get my bib. I went over to my bib number's booth and grabbed a couple of weekend event guides because love.
Then I went over to the goodie bag pick-up table. I thought the size shirt I got was going to be too big. I tried on the half marathon one because I knew I would be finishing that race. It was a tad too big but I could live. Guess I was too lazy to swap. Next we went to go print Annie's waiver so she could get her bib. We went upstairs and she picked up her bib. We had to go back over to Josten's for her goodie bag so back over to Josten's we went. She swapped her shirt and I decided on one WDW Marathon tee to buy. I picked the short sleeve-non tech tee of Goofy's "I did it!" with the course maps on the back.
We looked around at some of the vendors and I bought a couple of magnets, an oval 13.1 and 26.2 for the Blueberry (that's our car). We looked at the runDisney New Balance shoes too! I wanted to get one of the new shoe inserts they have for 2014 that has each race weekend logo on the insert and a shoelace logo bead thingy but it was too much money for me at the time.
We walked back upstairs when we decided we didn't want anything else and I texted the crew to see where they were because I was hungry and about to naw an arm off. Not a leg 'cause I need those to run While I waited for a response I took some more pictures.

Just an FYI: I bought the pink @runDisney tutu
No one answered so I gave someone a call and Kristen answered. They wanted to look around some more and we were starving so we decided to head off to Downtown Disney for food.
It was drizzling when we got outside. I stopped to take pictures of the signs of all the medals though.
We made it to the bus area and it started to rain harder. A nice CM who was over at our bus station offered us her umbrella. How nice of her! I think it was because of our cameras.
Our bus for the weekend was Teal 7, in case anyone was wondering.

Then I went over to the goodie bag pick-up table. I thought the size shirt I got was going to be too big. I tried on the half marathon one because I knew I would be finishing that race. It was a tad too big but I could live. Guess I was too lazy to swap. Next we went to go print Annie's waiver so she could get her bib. We went upstairs and she picked up her bib. We had to go back over to Josten's for her goodie bag so back over to Josten's we went. She swapped her shirt and I decided on one WDW Marathon tee to buy. I picked the short sleeve-non tech tee of Goofy's "I did it!" with the course maps on the back.
We looked around at some of the vendors and I bought a couple of magnets, an oval 13.1 and 26.2 for the Blueberry (that's our car). We looked at the runDisney New Balance shoes too! I wanted to get one of the new shoe inserts they have for 2014 that has each race weekend logo on the insert and a shoelace logo bead thingy but it was too much money for me at the time.
We walked back upstairs when we decided we didn't want anything else and I texted the crew to see where they were because I was hungry and about to naw an arm off. Not a leg 'cause I need those to run
While I waited for a response I took some more pictures.

No one answered so I gave someone a call and Kristen answered. They wanted to look around some more and we were starving so we decided to head off to Downtown Disney for food.
It was drizzling when we got outside. I stopped to take pictures of the signs of all the medals though.
We made it to the bus area and it started to rain harder. A nice CM who was over at our bus station offered us her umbrella. How nice of her! I think it was because of our cameras.
Our bus for the weekend was Teal 7, in case anyone was wondering.

Hans(ome)
We were back at OKW, and now it was raining. We stopped at the Hospitality House to inquire about the MagicBand charging. They set us up with our own credit cards linked to our MagicBands. After, we went back to the room to unload our purchases. I changed into flip flops; I don't like to ruin shoes. I also grabbed my poncho because I'm about that life.

Luckily our bus stop wasn't too far away from our room. We got on a bus for DTD.
BUS GUY VOICE
I know at some point they changed the voice on the bus...but I can not tell the difference. Or maybe I don't remember...? I have no idea. All I know is this bus guy voice gives me that Disney feeling so. There was a change I noticed somewhere else but I will get to that later
On the bus to DTD to get me some WPE mac and cheese. And spend my money at WoD
We got off at the Marketplace and headed for World of Disney. We popped into stores on the way there to try and stay dry. I swear in like the time of 5 seconds, Annie disappeared and came back with a HUGE bag. She bought the big Stitch for her sister. She also bought a poncho.
I bought 4 pairs of ears (3 for me, 1 for my friend), and then 2 mugs. One is one of the new designs for 2014. The castle
and this one that is covered in Mickey heads that are all different animal prints. HELLO that screams moi!
I made my purchases (WITH my MagicBand) and then went over to WPE.
I got the mac and cheese if you couldn't tell from my tweet about it. If mac and cheese has bread crumbs on it, it HAS to be good and it was! Annie got the mac and cheese and the Caesar salad.

Later that night, Craig and Kristen went to go get groceries, so aunt Gail, Annie and I were on AJ duty. He was napping on the sofa right next to me, so I was then on AJ duty. I watched some Duffy!!! And took some pictures from my location.

I just thought the one I got the day I was arriving in Disney for the marathon was just perfect. It was so fitting.

Yes, smart decision. That's what I did. But I actually didn't end up spending as much as I thought I would...more on that Later. But if I didn't have regular Disney merch on my wish list....it would have been a different story.I can't wait to go to the Princess Expo and drool over everything

I LOVE it!!! There were these other types of running skirts (that were sparkly) that I saw a TON of on the course. Who ever was selling those must of made a killing. But some people were suggesting that the tutu would be annoying when running and that's why my cousin didn't buy one (she bought the other kind) but I absolutely loved it! I'm sure if you wear it lower on you, yeah it might get annoying but I had absolutely no problem with it! Fav new running attire

My typical morning in Disney
I went to bed late and woke up at like 6:30ish. Typical. I had Stacey on a lovely continuous loop while I laid in bed for a while and went on my phone to check the weather and such. Eventually I got up and got dressed.
Monorail shirt and monorail bow
I went downstairs sometime in the 7 oclock hour and AJ and crew were up; Craig was making breakfast.
I hung out downstairs for a little while and then went off to fill up my refillable mug and take some pictures of my home on the way. I also took some with my lovely new pink instant camera that my best friend got me for Christmas.
While at the hospitality house I finally heard them.
Omg my steel drum music I am officially home
I have no words to describe the love I have for OKW BGM. Go look it up on YouTube if you have no idea what I am talking about. I'll wait.
After a couple of refills, I headed back to the room to get ready for today's race.

runDisney Kid's Races
This morning, AJ was participating in his first ever race! The runDisney Kid's Race's 100M dash!
Off to AJ's first race ever!!
We headed out to go catch the expo bus.
We got on the expo bus and we were off to ESPNWWoS again. By the time we got to SSR, there was a sing-a-long happening on the bus. It was small but a sing-a-long, but a sing-a-long none the less!

We made it to WWoS and headed way to the back to get to the track.
There were a ton of kids and their families there. They had a small stage set up in the middle of the track and they had some entertainment going on in the form of music playing and teaching everyone dances to certain songs. They even taught some of the dance moves to Thriller...so of course I freaked out.
The entertainment was teaching all the kids and parents at the Kids Races Thriller >>>
There were so many kids there this day, that they actually broke down each of the distance of dashes into separate heats (or if we wanna be fancy, corrals (or corals to a certain someone )). AJ was in heat 1 for his race. They sent all the kids and their parents over to their respective distance start line about 10 minutes before the first race.

AJ's first race!
Before the first race started, of course Mickey had to show up!

Aunt Gail went by the finish line, and Annie and I were right up against the fence closer to the starting line with video camera and camera in hand.
Soon, heat 1 was off!
Kris and Craig both ran with AJ and this was the cutest frigging thing I have ever seen! They had a ton of MarathonFoto photographers on course too! I saw one directly behind AJ for a while.
AJ ran the entire distance and finished! They had a water table set up at the finish line and it included bananas.
And then the kids got their medals!!!!!
They had more photographers right after the medal station and they took a ton of pictures of the kids with their medals (and parents). So stinking cute!
WAY TO GO, AJ!!
After, we walked back to stroller parking to get the stroller and went into the expo again.
We looked around again for a little bit but then decided to head back to OKW.
On the walk back to the buses, I was talking to Annie about what time we should get up and get the bus the following day for the half. I suddenly heard someone yell out "No! Don't get the early bus!" Another runner (who was laying on the ground in the shade) over heard me and told us not to get an early bus. We stopped and chatted with her for a while. She was running Dopey and she said she made the mistake of getting there too early for the 10K that morning and she ended up just waiting around for 2 hours for the race to start. She said "unless you like waiting around for a few hours for a race to start" take a later bus. The closer to 4, the better. She said that she was miserable that morning and "usually, Im a happy person, Im a happy runner. I wished her good luck with the rest of Dopey and we thanked her and ran off to catch the bus. We would definitely be taking her advice!

Newbie Disney runner here......since doing the Jingle Jungle 5k, I feel like I've become a bit of an addict, at least of everything Disney race related. I am doing the Royal Family 5k at Princess weekend as well, but I'm recovering from an injury and, as a fairly new runner, it's taken quite a toll on me, so I'm not sure how its going to go.
