LIVE WAWA Flordia Grand Opening Ceremony

.I wonder if this hype for both businesses is generated due to both being businesses being from the Northeast and people just wanting to experience something from back home or from word of mouth as I hear the New York Shake Shacks have 2 hour waits and live cameras of the lines so people know what to expect.

Seems like my childhood home of Florida is looking more like NY/NJ, all the time... :(

But, in reverse, a few months ago, the Midwestern favorite "Steak n' Shake" (which has been doing business in FL for many years) recently opened it's first NYC location, next door to the Ed Sullivan Theatre (David Letterman show).

Now if Florida gets Herrs potatoe chips, it would be nirvana.
Wawa has great sandwiches.

I live right near Wawa's headquarters, and my cousin works for them and is currently in FL for the opening (I think). It's a great convenience store/gas station - I end up stopping there probably once a week either for gas or lunch.

Hopefully the native floridians will grow to love it as much as us PA/NJ folks!

Lived in NJ for 6 long years -- those Amoroso rolls were the reason I didn't like Wawa's hoagies...

Give me Jersey Mike's Subs any day of the week!

Wawa hasn't used Amoroso rolls for a few years now. Got to expensive so they went with a different company.

Actually, it isn't JUST a gas station. Wawa started as a convenience store first that had a food service counter. The gas station came second. So you don't exactly know what you're talking about. Up north, many find them as popular for subs and hoagies as fast food restaurants. They also offer MANY healthy fresh food choices to go 24/7 (salads, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, fruit cups, cut up veggies, yogurt, etc...) So again, I state, it's not JUST a Gas Station. Be prepared as there are many more coming to the Orlando area!!

Our Wawa's are great! I work the midnight shift in a resort town and it's pretty much the only place that's open 24/7. Wawa has great Lobster bisque, clam chowder, and MD crab soup in addition to their coffee and subs!!!!

It's not just a gas station. You would have to live hear to understand. Their hoagies are amazing and for a Northern transplant to ave access to Tasktykakes, Goldenburg Peanut Chews, Take a Boost and Amoroso's rolls-- it is a big deal.

You have to me from my area! I never thought I'd see boost mentioned on here!

HA!HA! But Boost is only available in the South Jersey stores. We moved across the river (we lived less than a mile from the river in PA and now live less than a mile from the river in NJ) about 6 years ago and had never heard of boost until we moved here. It's not available in the PA stores.

WAWA coffee
Diet Green Tea
Cream Cheese Pretzels
Hard Rolls
And Shakes Oh My!!
