We just left the 5:00 showing of the HDDR. This is the third time we've seen the show, and we were excited to see our favorite Six Bits on stage. I don't have a pic available, but this is the one that Shan-Man has discussed previously in his reports. In any case, the show was pretty normal for the first 15-20 minutes, but then we noticed they changed some songs and Six Bits was not in the show. After dinner it was completely different, and not that funny. No Six Bits, and he is such an integral part of the show. Afterward, I asked our server what happened and she said they took him away in an ambulance.

We spoke with the players on the porch before the next show (they called in a new SB) and they seemed worried, but said he was recuperating.

So, send good thoughts and prayers his way tonight. We wish him a speedy recovery. The show isn't the same without him.

My wife and I have enjoyed Six Bits performances many times. It's very obvious that he thoroughly loves to entertain. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family this evening. Get well soon :grouphug:

Oh my! What disconcerting news. I just sent this e-mail to the HDDR manager:

Hi Margaret,

I just heard that Ben was taken to hospital during the 5pm show today (news travels fast, even all the way to NC!). I was hoping that you might be able to share news of his condition. I understand if you can't, but please let him know that he is in Santa's prayers, and the prayers of MANY of us Fort Fiends.

If I hear anything I will be sure to pass it along.

Thank you Shan. Please let me know if you hear anything. Its funny, during the show before we became aware of what happened, I was feeling disappointed and kind of "slighted"...like I had paid a lot of money and they had cheapened the show. Of course, once finding out what had happened, it quickly stopped being about "me", and we were just worried about him. I hope we receive good news soon. And considering the circumstances, the rest of the players did a great job just carrying on and entertaining the crowd. Had I not been so familiar with the show I don't think I would have known something was not right.

Our wishes for a speedy recovery, and kudos to the rest of the staff for making sure the show went on. Please keep us posted..

Wow, that's sad to hear. We saw the 9:30 show last night (3/18) and everything was great. Hope everything turns out okay.

Dave, we were looping and saw your campsite. It was about the time you would have been at the show which explains why it didn't appear anyone was around.

I just heard back from the stage manager:

To be honest, your email was the first I heard of this! (I am travelling with my family this weekend ... in Greensboro, NC, as a matter of fact ... and didn't have my Blackberry on).

I have since talked to Ben. He is feeling fine. Shaken, but fine. I passed along your message, and he appreciated your thoughts.

Thank you for your concern and your care.

Margaret

So that's quite a relief.

hey Mike, sorry I missed you. We are pulling out of here this morning, so hopefully we will meet another time.

Ya, we're leaving this morning too. Just spent 2 days here on the back end of a DCL cruise.

So glad that Six Bits is doing okay. Wonder just what "shaken" really means.

That is great news! We were in Trails End last night and met Dave leaving the show and he told us what happened.

I hope he fully recovers soon!

Is this him?

Yes. I've only seen the show once and am not as farmiliar with all the players but he is hard to forget!

The one time I did see it, I ended up on stage, much to my shock and my daughters joy!
